Telus is such a cheat and incompetent vs easy breezy Norstorm

So a couple days after my monthly scheduled payment I switched to another carrier on boxing day.

I thought Telus owes me money because they charged one month in advance, right? Turns out I owe it $21 on a 25 dollar plan.

Fine, I just want to see the bill to see what's going on. so I logged in numerous time over the course of almost one month. every time I clicked on 'billing', the website just keep flashing, flickering, doesn't allow me to see anything. if you don't want to let people to see their bills, at least you should have the decency to let people know, but no, it just keep flickering. I have never seen anything like that.

It also charged you on the day my placed the order, even though you received the sim card 10 days later.

updated:
Today I also webchat Norstorm for a receipt because the icebreaker pant developed a few holes after just one wash and so I need to contact the manufacturer but I can't find the receipt in my email. after only a few exchange of information, the rep sent me an email with my old receipt. Very fast and efficient process.

the difference with Telus is night and day. I rangling with the rep in webchat for more than half hours and the rep still refused to send me an email billing. I can only get my billing in paper for $10

Avoid Telus at all cost.

You’re on a postpaid plan. How could they possibly owe you money?

If you don’t want your plan activated and charged, visit a retail store to place the order.

in the era of $25 monthly plan and get a free phone, I wanted to sign a contract with Telus, for plan and phone. Store didn't help, saying you need to call; calling is free. Ok, I called, and they say you need to put deposit. Ok, how much? Twenty five hundred. Oh, you mean twenty five bucks. No, two thousands and five hundred. Sure, that makes great sense. Bye. Telus is doing a good job.

that's not the point. the point is they won't allow me to see the bills to figure out if the charge is correct or not.

That's incompetency at the least, don't you agree?

"You can continue to view your e.Bill online, up to 90 days after your cancellation date."

and why they charge on ordering date, but not activation day? am I responsible for the delay in packaging and shipping and transportation of the sim?

relax. just 25. It's not worth to spend that much time, which already costs a lot more than 25.

Just wait until paper bill comes. Pay it off. Stay away from Telus. Never touch Telus or Koodo.

They are still pulling that one???
When I first came to Canada 20 years ago I didn't have a North American credit history (flawless 10 year record in Europe, to Canadians it wasn't worth the paper it was printed on...) I got the $2000 deposit reply when I tried to get a postpaid account, (CDMA) phone not included. Even back then $2000 would have been several years worth of service?! Half a year's worth of plan fees as deposit? Still a bit much, but fine. $2000? Hell, no.
Needless to say that I never signed a contract with Telus. (Technically they still ended up getting money from me when I got myself a Public Mobile SIM.)

Yes exact same situation. It was summer in 2003, when I wanted to take over $25/month plan-phone contract (two years left), Telus wants $2500 deposit. How ridiculous. So I never touch Telus, however I do have two public mobile accounts so technically I am still paying telus $11 and $18 every month. Myself been with bell for 15+ years, and just signed another two year contract with bell.

Do you remember your Billing cycle dates? Not the payments dates but the first day of your monthly billing cycle and the last day of that billing cycle?

You should read my whole annectote, and, apparently XinbingL77044's... ;-)
And just for the record, SpeakOut only came to Canada in late 2005. The above statement from Telus reps re post paid plans for us (then called) landed immigrants is from late 2002...

It's not about the money per se. I make a few times more than that on an hourly base as an IT consultant. This is my father's account as a senior who doesn't speak much English, so I did it on his behalf. I am just angry at them.

Unbelievable. Never heard of such thing. That's insane to charge people $2500. Do you get your deposit back, say you only use Telus for a few months?

Never used Telus before until this August.
