[Telus] Telus 15gb $70/m for those on their $60/10 GB plan (YMMV)

Just talked to retentions
Told them I wasn't too happy with getting a $10 increase

They offered me 5gb & unlimited international texting

If you need help tell them Fido offered you $500 credit towards a new phone & you understand it's koodo as your discount brand but you aren't happy about the increase

It's not a hot deal but just trying to help out from a shitty situation
Edit: So, many thumbs down
People have got free visual voicemail, 200 US minutes, free international texting, etc.

The thing is I am not going to spend more, as they want. I am going to spend less, I will find a deal. But they won't get more of my money.

Yeah I called them on Saturday and they also gave me 15 GB for $70. How should I get free international calling (I'm assuming it's US only?)? Should I call them again and say my friend is getting that from Telus?

Data is cheap. Telus had a bad quarter in terms of ARPU. This is their desperate attempt to get customers to spend more.

International means International not US only

I had a US package on my account from before & they just offered that... addons they can usually do for free

They offered me the same as well. I use close to 10GB pretty often, but I’d rather choose when to pay more, or get more... not being forced to pay more for anything.

Right now it’s looking like Koodo has offered the plan to some customers for $60/month, so I’m going to be checking with them tomorrow, if not, I have a strong feeling I’ll
Be moving myself and the 3 other lines I have with them over to Freedom

Is there anyone that is offering minimum 10 GB for maximum $60?

I wouldn't mind international calling.
I can call my overseas family everyday without disconnections like on WhatsApp or wechat

Unlimited calling to any country? I find that hard to believe.

I'm hoping I can get the extra 5GB, but would also like the Canada-US plan, so I can use my phone in the US. That would justify the $10 increase for me.

I got 15GB/month for $70/month but they wouldn't throw anything else in, oh well.

Freedom has 12GB + unlimited Canada talk + global text for $60/month.
Videotron has 9GB + unlimited Canada talk + text for $64/month.

Needless to say I'll be calling Telus about cancelling my 3x $60 (10GB) plans due to the price increase.

Never heard of Videotron and you couldn't pay me to switch to Wind.

Has anyone threaten them with a CCTS complaint yet? It’s a 16% increase on a plan offered just over a year ago. This is well over the rate of inflation. It’s shady marketing tactics, they should disclose the rate would only last a year. Didn’t we stop a public mobile price increase with CCTS complaints?
