[Telus] TELUS $95 unlimited Canada/USA text/call/data, 50 GB 5G+, NO ROAMING IN US!!! Hot for the right person.

So I know seeing 95 dollars seems like a terrible deal to most on here, but I was stuck on an 80 dollar contract from before all these decent 40-50 dollar plans became available, so 15 more to add unlimited us calling, visual voicemail, no us roaming, and 50 gb of 5G+ sharable data - from one of the big three - it is actually a pretty solid deal for someone with specific needs.

Anyways, the point is this, for anyone who travels to the US regularly or calls the US. This has no daily roaming fee. I had this plan already for 100 and did not realize this. Just confirmed with online chat and screen-captured it for posterity.

Furthermore, they confirmed you could use a connected device without paying roaming either - so my ten dollar a month sim card now powers an Ipad mini 6 that I can give to my mom when she travels and she can use data all day and make calls with a service like line 2.

Anyways, maybe some of you could try getting a better offer through winback, but I thought I would share this as I have not seen a Canadian plan US roaming included EVER outside of Freedome - though I could be wrong.

very little effort gets you a way better plan. With winback available, these offers look like scams. With E-Sim these look like even bigger scams.

I know right? If you need 4 it's a good deal. Roaming is like 10-15 dollars a day now on most of the services.

They are probably referring to how you can get an ATT plan and run it along with a cheap freedom plan/voip. You get access to CAN/USA/MEX for less than $50 a month CAD

Sorry. We've been scammed for decades. This just happens to provide a lot of value for someone with specific needs. I have not heard of any winback plan that includes free roaming and 50 GB so really...

Also, explain how e sims make my life easier. Do you mean like activating a travel sim? Because if you're going to the us regularly it's probably not cheaper and it's just another annoying step. I've tried travel sims and they are annoying, inconsistent and a hassel.

And I did say during the post that winback could make this deal even better.

I'm not sure the lower plan includes US, but I might be wrong.

Yeah I did this back in the day when I lived in the states and moved here. Had a Tmobile north america plan that included Canada and Mexico. They kicked me off when they realized I lived here. In the small print. Also that ATT plan probably isn't 50 GB 5g, and that cheap freedom VoIP plan after tax will bring you to close to 95 bucks.

Upvoted for the effort.

While $95/mo stinks, you can stack multi-line, home services bundle and other discounts with these plans to reduce the cost.

I took advantage of a cyber Monday deal to get the same CAN/US unlimited plan, but with “only” 20GB of data for $75/mo.

I know, doesn’t sound great until you add the following discounts, (which were available at the time, but YMMV):
  1. $15/mo multi-line discount (4+ lines)
  2. $20/mo Home Services bundle discount (for having TELUS internet/TV/Security/Home Phone
  3. $5/mo cyber Monday discount
  4. $200 port in credits for up to three lines
My cost, for each line, is $35/mo, which works well for my needs. Would be especially handy for those that live/work in areas that roam between Canadian & US towers.

Good plan for people routinely travelling to US.

If it was $55-60 for 25-30gb with same roaming perks I would probably jump from the Fido win back 45/25.

Was it posted here? This is pretty good. The killer is needing 4 lines though for $15 off, can only do max 2 for a while.

Honestly, I was paying 100 and didn't even realize it included roaming. They weren't advertising that until
I noticed today. Now that I know it's an option I will definately drop to a lower tier when I get the chance, and you make a good point with the bundle discounts.

Meh. I’m happy with my $35/month 25GB+ unlimited talk/text across US/Can/Mexico from AT&T.

Don’t care to pay an additional $60 to feed the pencil-pushers at Telus crime inc.

My mom told me I'd also be hot for the right person. It's been 23 years, and she's yet to be proven correct.

Yeah, there were a few related threads around that time that this deal was contained in. One is the ongoing TELUS winback thread, the other was related to EPP, as I recall.

I'm paying 85 now for 20gb so I guess I'll change it to 5G+ and double data for free.

Sorry. Do you mean the plan that is in US dollars and that requires a trip to the us to get and even then can take several days of driving around and is not compatible with all phones. Oh and it's half the data and you won't have a local phone number so people here will be charged long distance for calling you. That's not really compatible.

Try to ignore the thumbs down, we’ve all be burned by the Cdn telcos for so long that crapping on them is a national pastime!
