I just got off the phone with Loyalty. Through my negotiations I was able to get 750/750 with unlimited data for $50 per month on a 2 year contract. I checked about Gigiabit and they said theyd have to add $15 dollars to the price. I was paying $50 previously for 150/150 so this was a nice bonus for me.

Thanks OP.

wow nice. They would only do $70 for 1yr for me no contract, or 65 with 2yr contract. including unlimited

that's really nice, what did you tell them Shaw offers, do they insist you to sign a contract?

Here's how the call went down:

Me: "A Shaw rep called me yesterday to let me know that they are offering 600 internet in my condo complex for $50 on a 2 year contract. It is very enticing. What can you do to for me?"
Rep: "We don't have 600 but we have 750 so I can give you that faster speed and match their price."

She needed to get approval from her supervisor but it all took about 7 minutes and she came back with the PM. Because it seemed so easy for her to do, I said, Shaw also offered me unlimited data, can you throw that in? And she said yep, the unlimited data credit will be for 12 months though and that I'd have to call back in for that the following year.

Here's the contract:

so.. you inspired me to call back in. they matched the same deal 50 for 750 unlimited, 2yr contract. he would also do 950 unlimited for 65, but I dont really need that speed, 750 is plenty.

Interesting. last time I called they made me take a 5 dollar hit to bump to 300. I think I'm on about 110 bucks all in for tv and 300. I presume if I whine to loyalty they will bump me to 750 for free. Anyone have 750 and pick 6 for under 100?

Many of the newer neighborhoods that got fibre right off the bat will have it available. The neighborhoods where they had to dig up some lines and stuff to upgrade, those are the ones that may not have it readily available.

Has anyone in the Kelowna, BC area had any luck getting Telus to offer any kind of deal? 950/750 and 300/300 are both available in my area, but they refuse to offer anything except the regular monthly price, no contract.

Vancouver here. Just called and got off the phone after like 1.5h wait...

They were offering $60 for 300Mb + unlimited or $90 for 750/750 + unlimited, both for 2 years, but you have to call back after the first year (but it's a guaranteed price), since their system only allows 1yr discounts.
Rep said they could not go any lower than $50 off, and I had to ask specifically for unlimited, which is normally a $15 add-on.
If you do this and cancel the unlimited data online then the price will be $15 cheaper.

Not too bad considering I was paying the same thing for 150/150 with data caps before.
