[Telus] Telus "Fastest" Internet 6

Just got the flyer, I can get $20 off, yes only $50, for a 24 month limited contract of their: "Fastest Internet 6." Get 6 Mbps download speed on 1 device for streaming or gaming.

Note: $70/month after the 24 month discount period.
Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

you're getting downvoted to heck, but I would like to know more info about this like, what flyer?

My Mother is stuck on Telus at $70/mo and she uses all of 20GB/month (there are no other ISPs available)

Bad idea to sign her up to a non fixed price 2 year service agreement with Telus at that price. See what kind of price you can get without a service agreement.

Tell her to call retentions.

I just got 1Gig for $70, with unlimited usage and $150 credits. Don't tell Telus about the lack of competitors in your area. Just tell them about their new customer plan, which is $85/month: https://www.telus.com/en/internet?linktype=ge-meganav

Others got even better deals, seems like. With a $300 credit and added basic OptikTV for $70

I thought it was some fancy new product to coincide with some Wifi 6 product. But no. It's literally the slowest internet on earth. What?

she's 82. Doesn't need any kind of speed at all. They key is less money spent. My Internet is $30/mo (we both live in BC)

oh and Telus is well aware that no one else services her little town, they love the lack of any competition
I'd like to move her to a LTE solution, but that's $75/mo with around 20GB usage

if she has telus internet then internet lightspeed can provide her service (by reselling telus service) for much much cheaper. $30 for internet 15

You kids seriously don't know how bad rural Ontario has it.

This deal is a luxury for many. Otherwise it's Sat internet or LTE.

lol...oh that made me laugh, but at in 2005 we still had dialup, sadly I can get 300/20 for $45 from Cable, or 1000/1000 from 3rd party fiber for $120

I paid $55 for internet 300 unlimited. (BC), but my landline and TV is also with Telus.
-$10 if Changing to limited speed
-$10 If downgrading to internet 150.
So Probably you can negotiate limited internet 150 or 75 for $35

We are in the same boat, telus only and $60/month for dsl 15, so we reached out to lightspeed to get a final price for their package.

$30/month + ???/month charge for a dry loop fee that goes completely to the crtc (could be $7 up to $27 a month extra).
This dry loop fee seems odd and wrong at the same time, as there is no extra fee for dial-up, cable or fiber.

Lightspeed has these ovislink wireless routers for $130, that are claimed to be 'future proof' (cable or fiber),
Are these decent at $130, or should I buy my own elsewhere?
The plans are for fiber by this fall (covid may have delayed this though to a year???), so I don't want to be stuck with paying another $125+ for a different router.

Thanks.
