[Telus] Telus PikTV is now only $10!! (BC / AB only)

Hey there!

Telus PikTV is now only $10 a month for a limited time (reg $20).

The box is also still on sale for $25 (reg $100). It's basically an Android box and has all the features like Google play store and even can work like a Chromecast. I actually got mine in the mail and they even included a HDMI cable.

Existing customers can add PikTV on top of their internet for $10.

New customers can get internet 25 with piktv for $65 or Internet 150 with piktv for $85. The first month is also free!!

All no contract ongoing pricing. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me for those who don't want to pay premium price for a couple of channels.

Cheers!

Is the box locked from installing other Android app like Kodi?
Which version of Android OS on the box?
Is there any planned upgrade to the latest Oreo OS?

But it will be a cheap Chromecast box for sure.

Is there any mic on the box so that I can use voice control for Google Assistant?
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $35 5GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, Zoomer $40.5 6GB plan,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet, $0 FPL home phone.

Yes there a mic on the remote so you can use Google Assistant. The cool thing is you can actually voice search live tv shows on it as well.

Yes! Kodi is just an app on the play store so you can use it as a Kodi box if you like. It's currently Android 6.0.1. No future plans for upgrading yet...

This is only available in limited Telus service areas, right? Like not available anywhere Telus already offers their Optik TV service?

This is offered everywhere that has minimum internet 25 and where optik tv is offered in BC and AB.

Are you actually with Telus OP? I'm just wondering because your avatar is one of Telus' logos I think...

Or maybe you're just a big Telus fan haha.
If I had more time, I would have written a shorter post

I saw this on Telus some days ago. What wasn't clear to me was about the add on of premium content. Is that $20 more, so $30 with the deal. Or is it $20 altogether?

Says the box is $100...(edit:nm, $75 credit)

Hows the on-demand stuff work? My wife wants Food TV but never watches live.

The add-on is the pricing on the top of the PikTV pricing. So if the premium pack is $20, the total cost of PikTV is $30.

The box is $100 with a $85 credit for existing customers. This makes the first month free and only $25 for the box.

Also PikTV is not a substitute for optik tv. It has some on demand but not the full library. Food network will be in it though!

Thanks OP. I have been curious about it due to the price point. But I have concerns because it's not a PVR and I like to record my sports. Otherwise, it seems great.
