Temporary mobile internet/data plan options for GTA?

Good afternoon,

I am looking for temporary mobile internet options/data plans.
Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for Fido $10/month 4GB data only plan for tablets.

My requirements:
(1) Speed: 1mbps would suffice.
(2) Cumulative usage: 10GB limit
(3) Validity period: 30 days (15 days could work as well if that balances other aspects)
(4) Coverage: Only GTA

I don't need a new phone number and wouldn't prefer a contract. Plan to connect it with my laptop and/or 4G phone (mainly Zoom/skype, audio only though screen sharing).
Could be prepaid.
Prefer minimum upfront cost as it is only temporary.

Thanks for your time!

I'm looking for something similar, though in BC rather than GTA. I need short term mobile data to tide me over from when I send Telus back their modem until I leave the country.
My cell plan is great-great-grandfathered and has limited data that I can't add to. But I have an old phone I could use as a hotspot.

The best prospect I've found so far is Public Mobile:
$10 one-time charge for SIM
$33 for 2.5 GB, 1 month (I'll only need a few days)
Cancel before the month is up and there are no additional costs - except tax. Or at least that's what I think.
They have other plans, biggest is $48 for 9.5 GB

I'd love to hear comments or other options...

just to clarify - are you looking for 10GB or 20Gb data within 30 days?

Because that is pretty high amount of data for 30days - doubt prepaid would have such a large data bucket.

I'd say go with one of the big 3 large cell data plans (postpaid) - you will have to pass a credit check though and then cancel after your usage. BYOP - no contract.

For example - Telus has their $75/month Peace of Mind cellphone plan with 20GB data. Ordering online - the sim card is free & no activation fee.

Once you use up 20GBs - the speeds get throttled but you can still use data.

Total cost:
$75 + applicable taxes

The last time that I checked, on Public Mobile, you could exhaust your prepaid monthly data allotment, top up early, and keep going. So, you could get an 8+ GB plan and top it up 1 or 2 times in a month. it would cost you about $150 for the month, but would have no commitment to continue and require no credit check.

I'd like to verify that this is still the case, but their website is down at the moment. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

Thanks for sharing about it, okanagan.
I am also searching kijiji/craigslist, and looking if someone is offering the options that suit my needs/budget, just in case.

Thanks for letting me know about the cost, ji2o0k.

Considering the cost, I have edited my original post to 10GB requirement, I believe I'll try figuring out ways once this limit is used.

Sure, IanBrantford.

I would keep this option in mind while searching.

Too bad because this looks like it might suit your stated requirements at reasonable cost.

Dent Wireless eSIM . I'm testing this out so I signed up, bought 1GB at US$4.99 and got 5GB bonus (limited time offer) that lasts 365 days.
