Teppanyaki - GTA or downtown only?

RFD, Are there restaurants that do this in the GTA or is it downtown only? I know of one by bay and bloor (Yamato) which also does sushi but I am looking for something which doesn't require me to pay for parking and also has good food. Last time I went to one it was at a hotel for a work party (Katsura).

Any idea's? Also what is the average price for something like this? At the end of the night, would prefer the bill to be about $40-50 if possible.

Best bang for the buck teppanyaki is Famous Japan at Don Mills and Eglington. I haven't been in a while but you used to be able to get a steak and shrimp teppanyaki with soup and ice cream for around $10.

I recommend both of these if you are on a date or something...if it's just a bunch of cheap friends then...that place at Eglinton/DonMills...i dont like it myself...but dont know your budget.

Yamato is one of my sushi experiences downtown and I know can be expensive. No this isn't a date just trying to find a place for a bunch of us to go and eat. By the end of the night I would say a good $40-50 from every person's plate is a decent price.

Are you referring to http://www.yangsushi.com/map.html for vaughan mills?

Benihana doesn't show GTA locations on their site!

There was one at the North York Centre (at Yonge and Elmwood across Mel Lastman)

In Mississauga:
Tako Sushi (hurontario and Matheson, we've had parties here, great pricing!)
Prince (on Eglinton near Orbitor)
Iron Chef (Tomken and Eglinton)

+1 for Yamato our go to for teppanyaki in Toronto. The fried rice is my favourite part lol. Sushi is great too.
If you like Yamato sushi you should try their sister restaurant, Fune which even has the boats going around
the bar.

This place is quite busy but I think the food quality is mediocre.

Does the Tako Sushi quality of food pass onto each location or is it a hit and miss?

Tako Sushi in Mississauga is another busy place, which I personally think their food quality is poor.

Iron Chef mentioned earlier is better quality.

Does anyone else have any experience at akasaka? Looks like decent pricing and close by for everyone.

Great food, top quality. If you are coming all the way north, then consider fushimi on Woodbine just south of 14th. All you can eat teppan grilling (one time order), and all your can eat sushi multiple orders.

I have been to the one by Vaughan Mills a couple of times. It is not my first choice for type of food but for what it was it was pretty good. The meats, rice and vegetables were pretty good. I didn't enjoy the salad but that was probably just a personal thing. I believe it was a bit pricey (I didn't pay) but the spectacle was nice and it was a fun environment.
