I've had this set for almost 15 years. Still just as good as the day I bought it. Highly recommended.

Minosharp, once a month or so. Never sharpened the bread knife.

I have the 2 piece from Costco and prefer this set for not too much more, especially with the block.

Was $243 in the prior sale, and $238 before that.
Think we'll see those prices again?
I'm tempted, but not in a hurry.

Hmm I bought both recent 2 piece and 3 piece sets from Costco..still haven't received either yet... I will want a block and a bread knife so this 7 piece set seems a cheaper way to get there....or should I just wait for a better set to go on sale now?

Are either of the 2 from Costco in this set?

Great - had a $50 gift card that I needed to use. I have a G46 at home and I wanted to buy the rest.

I bought for around $250 after taxes from the Bay a couple years ago, a couple coupons stacked

$300 or under I'd buy again - I've not had a single person use them and not compliment how amazing they, which was weird for me, lol.

Changed my views of knives completely.

I think there are 2 sets one 2 pieces and other 3 pieces

OPs set have the same chefs 8" (g2) from the 2 piece set, I think the pairing knife form the 2 piece is 5" on ops is 4.5 but would work similarly.

I think the 3-piece have 4.5 pairing and 5"chefs from this set (not sure, but if not the same think it's similar) and a santoku 7.5" that isn't on this set.

I got the one from Costco that had 2 knives, but contemplating upgrading to this now.. It's a world of a difference (I never spent any money on knives before)... I just cleaned a Beef Tenderloin with the small 2nd knife from Costco, and can just imagine how much easier would be with this set... damn RFD

I have the Global chef's knife. It's a bit light for my taste but the steel is good, handle is a tad more slippery than average. I use it primarily if I need to cut with a bit more precision as it can go around things better.
For general chopping / slicing, a western shaped knife (like Victorinox) is more comfortable for that.

The other knives in the Global set probably share those similar characteristics.

Gotta get this set with the minosharp sharpener. These knives are amazing as long as you take care of them

I'd rather wait for the price to drop to the mid $200s as it has in the past.
