[The Bay] Breville smart grinder pro $249.99 with extras.

Sadly my trusty bodum bistro grinder died on me after 6 years of hard daily work and I figured it was time for a little upgrade. Noticed the Bay had the Breville smart grinder pro as part of the summer promo code for $50 off, which isn't the best deal ever on this but not bad.

Where I found my deal was by adding a $59 Peugeot pepper mill (which I also needed) to increase my total to $360 which gave me the $100 off summer code for a total price all in of $291.18 in BC for both items. Any $50 or so filler will do so YMMV on this deal but worked for the coffee grinder bind I was in.

Code is summer.

Crappy tire had something similar for 149, with 20 off 80 promo it was a good deal. Some stores still have them on clearance, big ymmv, of course

I have this grinder, works well for espresso, i find it does not get coarse enough for a french press…but i use my manual grinder for that.

You can tell I don't drink coffee much because I was expecting a meat grinder and trying to figure out how to "smarten" one up. Oh well. Upvote for OP anyways.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

I have had this grinder for a while. Definitely at this price I think it's a good deal. Bartaza 30 would be better but that is an extra 100+

Good grinder for anyone starting off to make espresso or pour over. You will have upgraditis eventually but good value. I like how it holds my portafilter while I’m not using it, the dial is easy to use, and it’s easy to clean.

Well, I would have gone for this deal, but unfortunately I just purchased the Fellow Ode.
I haven't officially got it yet, but I hope it's all that it's cracked up to be.
One point is that the Ode is primarily (almost exclusively) a non-espresso grinder, whereas this Breville does both espresso and pour over.

Deal is dead? Looks like it's back up to $299.

I have the $30 little Krups grinder and it's been okay for my French press, but now that I have my first espresso machine (which itself is an entry-level unit) I'm wanting to upgrade the grinder. Will wait around for the next deal.

The deal is with the promo code summer. Spend over $200 get $50 off, spend over $350 and get $100 off so it's worth it to get to the $350 price to get the $100 off if there's a $50 item you need (in my example it was a pepper mill). Expires midnight EST today.

I must've been lucky when I grabbed mine for $239 + got an extra 15% off when I complained about wanting to use the new credit card but couldn't.

At the same time, I had also bought the Bambino Plus and while I've not had the chance to use it extensively, I'd been using a small grinder for my drip coffee and boy, it's like an upgrade to first class. I love using this grinder.

I have the Bambino Plus and the Smart Grinder in matching blue and they're pretty nice to look at, too.

The price is back up to $299 and colour options are limited but keep an eye on it and the price will come down again. There's regularly a 20% off Breville products at the Bay.

The dose control pro and the sgp have the exact same burrs. The only difference being the sgp have an lcd screen and a non-plastic housing. 🤷‍♂️

My Encore is still kicking like new after 12 years or else I would give this a whirl. The Encore is amazing for drip and submersion but always leaves me with a messy counter. Damn static. Now I'm mad at Baratza's annoying reliability.

I Have this grinder. I despise this grinder. The static flings grounds in a two foot radius around the grinder. It is so bad that we batch grind a pound at a time and then clean up the mess. I’ve tried some internet tricks (most putting a few drops of water in with the beans) and none of it works. Lots of similar reviews.

Mine died after two years. Google it. I threw it in the garbage. No more Breville.
