Check the duvet sizes before buying. Some brands like Hotel Collection use weird sizes, so if you use a duvet cover with the duvet, your options are very limited. I received a Hotel Collection queen sized duvet for Christmas, and the size is 96x94. A standard queen size duvet is 90x90. The only company that sells a 96x94 duvet cover is Hotel Collection, and the price is upwards of $300. Luckily, I found a 96x96 duvet cover on Amazon for a little under $70 by another company.

Lots of bad reviews here for a similar duvet.. Pass:

The duvet is horrible. The fibre bunches up in balls so the overall effect is a lumpy mess. Very expensive and very low quality. DO NOT BUY IT
Don't waste your money.. After a year the filling goes into big clumps and looks horrible. You cannot shake it to redistribute and just a lumpy not warm piece of junk
It was great for a year, but the quality didn't hold up. The filling has fallen into the corners, some pockets are completely bare. Other parts the filling has bunched up, I have tried to fluf itany times and it doesn't work. It even looks lumpy on the bed. I hate it. It is uncomfortable to sleep on and in less than two years, I am looking to replace it. I hoped something that was that expensive would have held up much better.
I loved this duvet when first purchased. It had a lovely feel and the loft was just right. Sadly, less than 2 years later, the loft has settled into clumps and leaving completely bare spots. I’ve tried to fluff the loft in the dryer with tennis balls added. No improvement. Very disappointed in the long term quality.

If you can find silk filled duvet, it beats any of the gel or synthetic stuff. It also wrap around you better than the heavy goose-fills.
I was gifted one 10 years ago and it is still going strong. I use it year around (climate controlled of course).

Fairmont uses a company called Northern Feather for their hotels, at least the ones I stayed in.

I'd imagine this is just 3rd party branded stuff.

Probably a reason it's $99.

Seems like bad reviews galore on almost all of The Bay's bedding products, including the newest much beloved Hotel Collection stuff. Is there any place to go for guaranteed quality and durability?

So soft, 100% cotton, fluffy, like sleepy on a cloud but it sleeps hot.
Thanks for the tip!
