Thanks, jumping on this - I still have unopened the Costco set with a different block (plastic) that I got on sale for $400.

Bamboo block looks so much better. And $100 less.

It says Synergy on the box with same knife dimensions. I'm a terrible cook and a worse knife person, so I have no idea what you mean. Is there a difference?

Classic is their original, the ni (two) is supposed to be better than the "first gen", the dimples are not all the way around, eg:

Love the knife block. Temped to buy as it seems $699 is actual selling price.

Looks like the Bay had this on sale for $240 back in March.

Fair enough. Anyone know how the global classic compare to the 4star henkles?

Edit: looks like classic when I look at the comparison.

I have this set. It’s great. It is the classic model. Would recommend.

I have japanese knives that i ONLY use, then i let people use global or equivalent with guests i trust, henckles 4* i'll let anyone use but warn them its razor sharp as i re-beveled it and sharpened it to cut paper.

I would get Global Classic or NI over henkles.

Though Henckles has gotten kramer involved and his knives are almost pieces of art. Sharp has heck and all hand made in USA, his henckle branch is probably factory made according to his specifications, not 100%.

Damn I want this set... but I just got Costco 3 piece set, dont have the packaging anymore to return. Great knives, amazing knives actually. I started enjoying to cook, what a difference compared to Henkel’s.
