$90 is still too much for a toaster.

$90 is a lot for a toaster (though you can spend way more).
That said, have the earlier version of this and really like the long slots for when your bread isn't Wonder Bread size, such as a slice of a big sourdough boule. It's also lasted rather long for a modern cheaply built appliance (sadly almost all toasters are cheaply built and unrepairable, with very few exceptions).

Unless I'm missing something, for $89 you can buy a full featured toaster oven with convection and air fry.

You can, but this is way more convenient and consistent for just toasting. All depends on what you need/want, both are good options.

Price out a Smeg toaster. While you’re at it, look at the Dolce and Gabbana Smeg Toasters at The Bay.

Your mind will be blown.

I saw reviews for that toaster on unboxed therapy and their minds were blown. also take a look at Wolf toasters

BUT WHY?!?!

What does it do that my $30 4-slice wide-slot toaster cannot do?

Being rich must be great. Just going around buying a bunch of expensive useless luxury items for fun. Like a $1500 brick that says 'Supreme' ... lol

yeah, really mixed reviews.

I used to have a Kitchenaid toaster oven and that thing had terrible build quality. Huge door gap and really poorly thought out design. I'm really glad I got rid of that PoS.

Kitchenaid is not what it used to be and it's especially not worth it for $90!

Their stand mixers are the only things worth buying. Everything else is overpriced junk living off the name of their mixers.

Was in the market for something very similar a year ago,
ended up getting the Hamilton Beach 24810C at Amazon for 41$.

Very satisfied... even if it's not Empire Red.
Seems to have the same "does not toast both sides evenly" comments.

I've had this toaster for the last 4 years. Overall, I like it and I like that you can toast longer breads. My major complaint is that it toasts the bread unevenly. Also, since about 6 months ago, one of the slots is working only on 1 side. :-(

I had called Kitchenaid and they offered me a new one for $90 plus tax.

Same reason why people buy $400 dyson hair dryers and $500 jeans lol

Picked one up a few days ago. Don’t know about the quality yet but Kitchenaid seems to be better built than Hamilton Beach or other value brands.

Just watched it. The one guy kinda seemed like 'still just toast' where the other guy was being a little over the top in the difference. Would be interesting to try though.

I use a large pan to heat up bread. $30 saved.
