[The Bay] KitchenAid Pro 600 Mixer: $299.99 ($399.99 less $100 MIR), Pasta Roller attachment $129.99

The Bay has the KitchenAid Pro 600 stand mixer on sale today for $399.99 (regular price $750) and then there is a $100 mail-in rebate on top of that to bring the price to $299.99.

In addition, the pasta roller/cutter attachment is on sale for $159.99, and there is a $30 MIR on top of that to bring the price to $129.99:

Dammit. I bought the 600 stand mixer for $399 at Bed Bath and Beyond last month and now KA releases a MIR.

At least the pasta roller/cutter attachment is the cheapest price I've seen. Thanks OP

Good price and good selection of colours. Don't forget 5% ebates. Hopefully they actually have stock of them. Last year around this time, I ordered a boysenberry colour and they kept cancelling the order because they couldn't get stock. Three months later, I finally got it but I had to keep calling them back every 2-3 weeks to check stock even though their website did show them available for order. They did give me another 20% off the sale price so managed to get a pretty good deal on it but it ruined my original plan to give it as an Xmas gift.

This is a "hot deal" but it is also a recurring deal. From what I've seen, the 600 series gets the 399-100MIR price about twice a year.

Although the majority of reviews online seem to be positive there are those really negative ones that are giving me second thoughts about this mixer, anybody here own this mixer and can give their thoughts on it? Looking to get this for making bread and noodles

This I always come so close to buying one but then I see the really negative reviews... Some talking about a gearbox? I don't know what that is, I just want to make my cake mix and eat itSmiling Face With Smiling Eyes!

Don't forget ebates for 5%

Also the rebate site in the OP doesn't list the rebate amounts (unless I'm missing something), but it also seems to elude that other attachments or appliances are eligible too. Anyone figure this out?

I'm not sure what you want here.
The majority of reviews are positive, with a small number of negative.
Those reviews will come from a much wider representation than here, so how will the handful of RFD comments change that?

Given that, I'll provide my 2 cents.

I own one, and have for many years.
I've personally had no issues.
I've made bread and noodles with no issues.
There will always be a lemon, or someone with exceptional needs, or someone willing to pay a fair bit more for a higher quality product.
However, for the quality vs. cost, I feel it would be a rare case where this would not be suitable for the needs of a home kitchen.

There have been numerous past threads on RFD, so I'd suggest a search to get more complete info.
- make sure any review/commentary is on this model. Many comments are about other models and not relevant to this one.
- ignore any comments about plastic gears. This model doesn't, and never had plastic gears.
- at one point a few years ago, they briefly used a plastic gear box and had issues. That was resolved, so ignore any comments on that.
