Hello everyone, let me apologize preemptively if this thread upsets some users.

I checked and the last time this was posted was 2 months ago so I assume either this is a new sale or the $45.95 per 24 can price is the new normal at the LCBO. I do not monitor the LCBO site and am unaware if the price went up in the meantime.

Before writing, I considered the Sh*#wall of posts saying this is a duplicate post or how they prefer a different beer. As a sociological experiment, I figured I would start this contrite post regardless to give beer enthusiasts notice of the price and to also see the degree to which others feel the need to crap on something that has no bearing on their lives. So whichever category you fall into, I hope this post serves a useful purpose to you. Take care.

Nice price but do not understand the beer store and LCBO association. beer store owned by 3 foreign companies with not one dime of profit staying in ontario.

Great price for a solid import! For cross-reference, the same format at lcbo (four 6-packs of 500ml cans) costs $55.80, even more if bought in singles.

Thanks OP.

I'll be the badass and say it's quite good, definitely an above-average beer and at less than $2 for an imported 500ml can (none of this 460ml nonsense), this is an excellent deal even if it is regular price. Corona on the other hand....

I am a big fan of European beer. None of the fake beer ingredients used by bud/molson/labatt. That said, sometimes Grolsch tastes like apple juice. Still a great deal and I'll probably grab a case or two on the weekend.

I just went a whole week without having a beer....for the first time in AGES. Not sure why, but just didn't feel like it. Now this deal and the Super Bowl on the horizon.....damnit RFD!

Great price, but like other posters have said this is at the Beer store and not the LCBO. LCBO is about $10 more for 24 (and they don't sell 24 packs, so you have to buy 4x6.

I had been excited for a moment when I saw the thread ... then read "cans". The bottles are great for home-brewing. Whenever I need to replace some bottles or get a few more, I will usually just buy some (the price with beer in it is very comparable to what you can buy empty at a brew store)

Just looked: $2.59 for an empty swing-top. $3.24/ea for 4 at the LCBO. *The true buck-a-beer*.

(Kijiji is hit or miss for price / quality of bottles available)

For the price you won't find a better beer out there IMO (Statement applies to Ontario only)

Reason: updated retailer name
But yet, the retailer name is wrong. I don't understand.

The 24pack is sold at the Beer Store not the LCBO.

Grolsch is an European pale lager, referred to a Pilsner in some places. Heineken and Stella Artois would also be a similar beer style, though there are taste differences and preferences between all these.
They would taste more bitter (hops) than Corona, but not as much as some of the more bitter german-style Pilsners.
While not my favourite beer or style, if a friend offered me a cold Grolsch, I'd say "cheers!", or "Proost!" Smiling Face With Open Mouth

You can buy singles at the LCBO for $2.65/can. Grab one and try it for yourself. Only you can decide if you like it, and if you do, it's a good beer (for you).
$45.95 for 24 500ml cans is a good price for Grolsch.

Been away from Holland for almost two years now and this used to be in my top 5 'basic/normal/casual' beers and is my dad's favorite. So I think I can say that I consider myself a product expert with considerable 'testing' done on this beer and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

How can you go wrong at that price? It is cheaper than buying a case of Laker.
If you are looking to get drunk off the beer, you will likely wake up with that nasty after taste in the morning. =(
