[The Source] $614.99 - Samsung KU6490 55” 4K HDR Curved LED Smart TV - Scratch & Dent

Saw this deal and thought it was decent with the $35 off deal with "Fall35". Anyone a TV expert that can advise if this is worth pulling the trigger on?

Thread for $35 off is here.

When I login to my account, it shows.

$654.49

YOUR DISCOUNT $19.50
$673.99

Price seems very inflated, or outdated.

Is it a demo that is scratched or dented?

Scratch & Dent: The product has visible imperfections such as scratches and/or dents, but functions like new. It includes all essential parts and accessories.

Probably a demo that has been sitting in the store turned on 24/7 for the past year an half.

I am always weary of buying TV's that have been kept on 24/7 in stores. Wouldn't the screen and some of the components be greatly reduced in longevity and lead to mechanical issues?

Yeah for sure. People average around 4 hours of watching tv per day. That's very little comparing to any demo units and have it on continuously for months.
Stores always advertise the tv like it was just sitting there doing nothing, except it has been on forever.

I bought a Sony Bravia that was a floor model at Sears 11 years ago. I used it as my primary TV for 5-6 years and now it's still my bedroom TV. It's going as strong now as the day I bought it. Mine could be the exception I suppose!

Your linked NU7100 seems to have better rating than the KU6490 in the OP:
NU7100: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/nu7100
KU6500: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ku6500

(can't find the exact KU6490 on rtings...but based onthe article, I'm guessing the 6490 isn't far off from the 6500)

So if I need to buy a TV in the next few months but not urgently, I should hold off? Budget is up to $750 pretax.

I was about to buy (10x) of these but curved screens are impractical for my business, in a conference setting.

Folks should know that the (8x) Sony units I bought on the last scratch and dent were all brilliant.

Final point: Get the 40" 4K NU7100 TV as your low-cost 4K monitor from Costco @ $439. 5-Year warranty is only $30.

Bought 48" Samsung Smart for $225 scratch and dent from The Source. Noticed months later it was supposed to have different remote (no smart button) but I use a Harmony anyway. Box was torn. Comes with full warranty.

I would stay away from curved tvs in general. They have a tendency to develop internal cracks and will not be covered under warranty.
