[The Source] Apple AirPods $175.99 with PSP/GoodLife discount

The Source is now selling Apple AirPods and have them in stock online and at most of their retail locations. When I log in with my PSP account, I get the $175.99 price. This is probably still too expensive for most people but will be hot for anyone who was already seriously considering/waiting for AirPods. Doubt you'll see a 20% discount on these for a while.

FYI: Already tried the $25 newsletter discount code; it doesn't work (at least online).

Please do not beg for the PSP/GoodLife code in this thread. Google is all you need.

What's the real world battery life on these things before needing to charge again? Seems like you could easily run out of juice watching movies or playing games on plane rides or doing errands for the day.

I get the advertised 5 hours of use with mine, and the charging/carry case juices them up very quickly. Mine went from 60 back to 100% in 10 minutes.

But isn't it cumbersome to have to remember to charge your earphones now and also the case for your earphones? Just seems like there are way too many devices that need to be regularly charged in addition to an Apple watch/phone.

Seems like using regular wired earphones with the lightning cable dongle from Apple would be much more user friendly and much cheaper since you will need to buy another pair of AirPods after a year to keep up the battery life due to battery degradation.

AirPods are awesome if you have multiple iOS and Macs tied to the same iCloud account. One-click and they're connected. Sound is not bad, and they dont' fall out, plus battery life is great.

OP, this is awesome! Can't believe I was so excited to find them in stock at the Apple Store that I didn't think about the PSP. Nicely done! Placed an order and saved $50 after tax.

Apparently in stock and will ship very shortly... as opposed to Apple's 6 week delay on online store. So if you're looking for these, The Source may be a good option even at regular price.
Congratulations!

I can't get over how stupid they look in your ears, even though they're otherwise better than other similar offerings from Samsung, Bragi, etc., especially when it comes to battery life.

Newsletter code ($25 off) doesn't work with any apple product. Its written clearly in the terms and conditions.

I owned these and ended up returning them as there are issues with standby battery drain on the case itself. I would lose 15-20% battery overnight and thus they wouldn't get me anywhere near the 24 hours of listening time when spread out over a couple days. Listening directly on the AirPods gave really good battery life, easily meeting the 5 hours quoted. I was hoping to be able to use them a couple hours a day and charge them roughly once a week but the standby drain is far too excessive for that.

I'm going to hold off on repurchasing them until Apple releases a software update to reduce the drain down to manageable levels like 5-10%/day. They also need to make the AirPods themselves switch off or enter into a lower power state when in the case as right now they always show up as charging even when at 100% battery and thus cause the case to drain excessively. It's a great price though.

Battery degradation shouldn't be a concern. And charging is very convenient. Once in a while plug the case in. Otherwise the act of throwing the pods into the case for storing / carrying will top them up very quickly

I thought they were wacky looking at first too. But in all honesty, why does the omission of wires suddenly make them strange? It's likely from not being used to seeing a product like this in use, like we have been to seeing the white earbuds with wires for 15 years.

There's been some long threads about this on other forums. I have a few sets myself, and did a lot of testing. Quite strange how it was happening. It's definitely a software thing though. One set of mine, I unpaired completely, gave it a full charge, and unplugged it. I left them sitting unplugged for 6 days so far (not paired to any devices). When I paired/connected them the battery showed 100% on the case and AirPods. So something is definitely happening when they're paired and in the case that shouldn't be.

Reading the title, I thought they came with a free PSP. I thought that was an odd combination.

OOS online. Anyone try to print the card and get these in store? Fine Print says "Excludes Apple Products" on the PSP site.
