What kind of issue on 5g?
Like dropping wifi and slow upload speed, but my old blue cave is totally fine. I was going to mesh it with the blue cave but too bad.
FYI if you decide to keep it, Fixed channel, disable 160 width and universal Beamforming somewhat fixed the problems, however the range is still weaker compare to my old cheap blue cave. Not sure what else settings I should tweak, but I am just tired of spending more time on trial and error. I feel like buying a new router with more features but disabling them in order for it to work properly is stupid. Read reviews before buying, seems to be good. After having issues, google shows I’m not the only one with those issues. Was thinking to get AX86U instead but might as well go with a real mesh system for that price

I am using ASUS AC1750. Would RT-AX58U be much better than that?

Bought one at staples $129 today, i was lucky, it was Hardware version A1,
I uploaded the merlin firmware to RT-AX3000, so far so good,

I had a Asus RT-AC1900p before had around 18-20 device connected (18 wifi and only 2 land line )and download master(torrent file) working 24 hours a day

Might be little bit faster with the RT- AX3000(RT-AX58U)

time will tell

I've had the AX58 since it first came out (2 or 3 years ago?). It has been rock solid with stock software - the range is amazing.

But its in my basement with a metal beam/duct work in the middle of the house. I had to position it on one side or another of the beam with the signal sucking on the other side.

I only recently upgraded to a XT8 mesh. The XT8 base node has the same range at the same spot as the AX58 but faster speeds.
But I would have been happy keeping the AX58 if it was not for the metal interference.

The download master(transmission) for torrent, doesn't work that great on Private torrent files(even if i'm subscribe to the private site, can't download it) on the RT-AX3000(RT-AX58U) with Merlin firmware compare to my old Rt-1900P(RT-AC68U) download master(transmission) with Merlin firmware could download private torrent.

I don't have any wifi 6device, so ican't test it , but so far so good for handling all my device (20-22 device including 7 cam wyze, some tplink switch, etc), if i enable the 160 mhz on the 5G, my smart tv doesn see it, only the 2.4 ghz

I used separate 2.4 and 5G network and fixed the channel, disabling the 160mhz seems to have a more stable connection, I get full download speed but upload speed and range are spotty. I have about 40 clients on the network. All smart devices and cameras on 2.4 seems to be better than the old router. Would have kept it if the 5g was better. Glad you like it.
