No the big fuse is not needed if you are using an existing home chime. If you guys are having trouble with the chime not working, you are not wiring it properly. I have this installed in a 30+ year old unit and it still chimes loud and properly.mikka2017 wrote: ↑ i haven't gotten my ac 24v adapter plug yet..
so do i need to install the 'big' fuse relay?(i don't really want to install it if its optional) it won't fit inside the doorbell backing/cavity i don't think cuz its too big, im no drill xpert or electrical ! hope i don't eff up! my house does not have any current chime or doorbell system installed , i think its prolly cheaper for me to buy an outdoor wireless cam and point it at the door and just buy a cheap wireless doorbell lol
with DB1 i have to drill holes and do wiring stuff which im a noob at!plus running the wires along the wall near the front door to the power outlet(10ft apart i think) will not look good on a white wall! i don't think i can hide it well

I have the latest firmware and the latest app, and I cannot disable these two things. IN fact there are explicit options in the app for the DB1 that are not there for the DB1C. latest app version and latest firmware for all... tried my android phone too...
peter10111 wrote: ↑ Thanks OP and all other helpers, between these three doorbells (#1- Eufy 2k battery doorbell $209, #2 - Ezviz DB1 $109.99 and #3 - DB1C $89.99) finally I picked the DB1C. The reason is wide camera 170 degrees and I like the white simple design.

I bought it From BestBuy and picked up within a hour. It took me 2 days and total around 3 hours to install it. (Should be easy, but I am not a handyman.) I set up with the original app and easy to use. The picture is not bad, and audio is much better than My Wyze Cam V2. The (audio in) surprise me, I can heard my next two houses neighbors were talking clearly @ their drive ways. On Ezviz website is showing (audio input: Ultra-HD; HD; Standard. Adaptive bit rate.) Not sure how is DB1?After all I am very satisfy.
The following image with Outdoor Light off and IR Light on.

Compare to my LG V20 wide camera 120 degrees @ the same spot. Huge difference (ceiling, floor, left and right.)

I was worry about the transformer from the chime, because my house is more than 30 years old. I am not sure how much power for the transformer. Lucky without any disconnect or issues.

#4 - I can disable the blue light on the ring.
#5 - I can disable the beep sound.
Maybe you need to update the latest firmware, mine is V5.3.0 build 201106.
I know is so hard to pick between these two models. They both has pros and cons.

You don't see these option on your DB1C
for #4 he means the LED status light ( blue ) - not the chime you mention before

My bad, I mean disable the light. I can't find any option to disable the ring for the DB1C.

If I understand you need to register to use the mobile app. After registration setup does the app need to be connected to Internet to work ie. notifications and audio? Will it work only on LAN?

If anybody did price match with Home Depot..
Then do they beat the competitor price by 10% or do they beat the difference by 10%??
For example this is 159.99 on Home depot.. Competitor pruce is 109.99..
So 10% of 109.99 is $10.99 so home depot shud give me it in $98.. Correct?
But instead of that they gave me it by 10% of 159.99 - 109.99 which was 10% of $50 and $5 so they gave me it in 109.99 -5 = $104.99
Please suggest...

Do know that it will likely die during a winter when temps will hit -25C and lower... Most of these cheap doorbells are not rated for such harsh winters we have. Most of them are rated to -20C. Some claim -40C, but they lie... Not all of them die,but a high chance it won't last more than 1-3 winters. It's very expensive to "winterize" such devices.

Can you stop crying when you reply..winenaught88 wrote: ↑ I suggest you stop crying about $7
Jokes apart, its not about only $7..
Its about to understand price match policy because what if there is a similar price match for a $300 item or may be $500 item in future from Home Depot..

The website says they match the price and then beat it by 10%. Not 10% of the difference between theirs and the sale price.newuserhere wrote: ↑ Can you stop crying when you reply..

10% off the cheaper sale price. That is how it worked for me in the past but my last price match was Jan-Feb 2020

Price Match and Beat by 10% for Retail Stores:
If you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from a local retailer’s store or website, we will match the price and beat it by 10%. Prices for online items will be matched to localized online prices if available.“

Zip your lip and take it. Their price is now 109.99 so consider yourself lucky to receive any discount.newuserhere wrote: ↑ If anybody did price match with Home Depot..

I think thats not correct.. Found more info on this:
Price beat by a fixed percentage
A similar practice is to beat a competitor’s lower advertised price by first matching the lower price, then providing an extra fixed percentage discount.
Home Depot’s price guarantee specifies that they’ll beat a competitor’s lower price by an additional 10%.
Example price match
If an item is priced for $100 at Home Depot and you find the same item for $80 elsewhere, you’d be able to purchase the item from Home Depot for $72.
10% of lowest price: $80 x 0.10 = $8
Final price: $80 – $8 = $72

Oh ok.. Thanks for letting me know.. I bought it some days ago already.... I lost $6+tax of more discount if price already reduced..

There is no need to feel good if i got any discount because you or others should buy from The source or other places where they have $10 off coupon...
