[The Source] *HOT* YMMV Bright™ Wi-Fi Single CCT LED Smart Bulb–3-pack - $5.99 even lower than before New expiry date: March 15th

Saw these in store.

Online stock is OOS so its YMMV because you need to pickup in store.
Price dropped for a lot of the items.

Expiry says March 15th. (New expiration date)
They also had singles selling for $2.99.

Also have the plug & 2 light bulbs for the same price.

Reviews says of faulty bulbs that don't sync and ones that burn out in a month or two.

Phew... Seeing the down votes for not a good price scared me into thinking these were not worth it.

I mean if it does crap out there is one year warranty.

I've been using globe/bright bulbs for over 4years and my experience has been very positive. The odd times I needed warranty service the company replaced the items hassle free.
I have bulbs and plugs, I also have kasa switches and plugs. Plugs are used during the holidays putting xmas lights around the house. One plug I use on my echelon spin bike, Alexa turns it on and off whenever I use it.

I think downvotes always happen when people go too hard in the title (*HOT", *LAVA HOT*, etc)

White/bright coloured furniture/paint looks sad with yellow lighting.

Personal preference. White lighting reminds me of a hospital. Yellow lighting is more warm and homely.

I agree as well. White lighting makes the home look too formal. Yellow makes it look more like “home”.

I came from a place where white lighting is common on street lights and in homes so have experience with both.

If you like Christmas lights, those can be used for that because they flicker a lot.

But they are cheap!

And now you know why.

Think most of us here have moved to the Sylvania bulbs found at Dollarama. They had full colour bulbs (RGB 2700-6500k) but mostly sold out now. They only have the non colour adjustable warm white bulbs.

Must have missed that deal or was never stocked at my local Dollarama. Only saw white bulbs...

General question -- do all these brands (Bright, Globe, Sylvania) use a general control app or did each have their own proprietary? I'm on Kasa and it's been good so far, but only have switches and plugs. I've never had smart bulbs themselves. TIA

Each has its own app, but most are also supported by Alexa and Google Home. Many of the cheap brands (Bright and Globe, for example) use Tuya firmware, which allows them to be controlled by the Tuya app and even by each other's apps.

The industry has finally got their act together to launch a new common standard called Matter, which will in theory allow any Matter-compliant device to be controlled by any Matter-compliant app. But it's just in the early stage of deployment - most existing devices are not compliant and probably never will be.

I've been using a bunch of these since the last big round of sales and none have burned out. A lot of people leaving reviews don't know how to turn off the 5g on their router in order to pair the devices. Heads up, that is a necessity for pairing.
