Didn't know the M705 was still being made tbh, always thought the M720 replaced it.

I recommend the M720 over the M705. Currently it's $60 on Amazon, so about a $20 difference.

M720 goes on sale every few weeks at staples for 49.99 FYI for anyone deciding to buy one

I'm running both right now and recommend the M705 over the M720. The 720 skips on surfaces that the M705 does not.

In for 2. This is a honestly my favorite mouse and I've been using them on my couch PC gaming setup paired with a wireless MK710 keyboard for the past 10 years now. The batteries really do last years with daily use and the remappable side buttons are great for games, I actually just tabbed out of playing BF4 online with it right now when I saw this thread.
The only problem with them is the click wears out after a few years of heavy use then its not so great for gaming anymore but still fine for regular home/office use. There are guides to fix them online but I just replace them at that point and the $40 has been well worth the 3-4 years I get out of them

Huh, I have both as well, but haven't noticed the 720 skipping. I use a mouse pad though, and it's very smooth Ok Hand Sign

Good mouse with crazy battery life. Only one that surpasses it is my Anywhere 2s which tracks on glass. But this is more ergonomic (still decently portable)

I only have the M720 and it works fine via bluetooth. There's no skipping on my end either. I have it paired up with 3 different laptops (which is the bonus feature of the M720). So far I haven't used the included dongle. I might have tried it when I first got it but I don't remember.

Yes, I don't have a Time Machine.

Didn't Costco have a clearance on the M720 for $29.97 earlier this year?

I've done the WD40 1 drop on the internal switch trick, brings them back for another two years each time. I did try electronic cleaner/contact renewal with little success. Great mouse nice price.

Even on Black Friday I remember that the price of the M720 was $40. The $30 at Costco was some clearance/"awesome sale" price. I even checked at Boxing Day. It doesn't hurt to wait and see. The worst that would probably happen is it's on sale for $40 again.

I've had three or four of these mice over the years at home and work and I've done the double-click fix three times. It's a bit finicky but not too bad if you're patient. Otherwise I strongly recommend this mouse.
