[The Source] Samsung MU6300 55” 4K UHD Smart TV (Scratch & Dent) $500

Image

Not sure if this is a good price or what, but it caught my eye. $600 off, it's a 4K Samsung Smart TV. I think it has true HDR support for the Xbox One X, but I have no idea whether that's true or not. With the PSP discount you get an extra $50 off driving the price down to $450.

What is dent & scratch? Is it open box or refurbished?

Scratch & Dent: The product has visible imperfections such as scratches and/or dents, but functions like new. It includes all essential parts and accessories.

Not new, just a FYI

You can check hours used on these TVs once you get them, yes?

Depends, not all TVs will have that counter.

Just got the 43" version of this same MU6300 TV for just under $400 from NewEgg eBay. Even though it said refurbished, when I created a Samsung account it said I had a full 1 year warranty. YMMV with these open box units.

The picture is great, contrast is a bit extreme but adjusting the picture settings works well. The Tizen OS was a bit laggy at first, but I applied the latest software update and it improved dramatically. YouTube, Netflix, CraveTV all work great - CTV and TSN GO are both glitchy but I think that's just Bell having crappy coders. I love the remote having the microphone - I can just say "play Stranger Things on Netflix" and it opens the Netflix apps, searches, and does it all. Same with YouTube, which is great.

If anyone has any other questions let me know!

I haven't seen anywhere in the settings to show that, no.

No wide color gamut and brightness in HDR is not higher than what you get with SDR.

Still not a bad price if you don't get a unit that is actually scratched and dented.

That have been punched and kicked.

True demo units in good shape are "Open Box".

Seriously, you buy "Open Box" electronics from the Source, and it's already "Scratch and Dent" with noticeable imperfections, so I wouldn't even want to see what the blind fools over there actually qualify as "Scratch and Dent".

Has anyone bought one of these before and have some experiences to add?

I have bought scratch and dent products in the past from them. Just small items.Package was a little banged up but was not opened. Never bought a tv from them though..so I can't comment if it's open box or the just box being a little banged up

The title, 'scratch and dent' scares me. However, this is a good price for a 55". This is the lower end 4K UHD. Bad off angle viewing, but looks great if you're sitting looking almost straight at the screen.

I have purchased certified open box items from BB and they are like new. I got the 50" version of this open box from BB last month for under $500 plus taxes/fees.
