I signed up my mother at the Source here in Calgary (Market Mall) about two hours ago with the same offer, and it's definitely still 24 months with the $10 discount. It sounds like it's YMMV by the store if you got offered less than that.
The Source
Virgin Mobile $40/mo for 24 months, 12GB LTE + $50 GC + $0 Activation + 1000 LD minutes

My parents are at the Virgin Store in Sq1 right now, and their discount is for the full 24 months.
Edit: looks like it was because they ported two lines, but still a good deal nonetheless!

Ugh, inconsistent prices. My CSR swore up and down that it was $50 - 10 for 15 months. And he couldn’t get the extra $5 because the system wouldn’t allow it. They don’t stack apparently. I’m sure it would have been different if I went somewhere else.

Oh no. I was just sign up at around 4:45pm at SquareOne too but only got $15 discount for 1 year. My plan is $35 1st year and $40 2nd year.maria636534537351313526 wrote: ↑ My parents are at the Virgin Store in Sq1 right now, and their discount is for the full 24 months.

Today at the Virgin Plus booth, Market Mall in Calgary had $35/12GB for 12 months, $40 afterwards for 12 months. BYOD. I took it.
Hopefully I'll get a call from Koodo winback. This one is going to be tough to match though.

Ah, thanks for the info, I’ll edit! They did port in two lines!
Has anyone successfully gotten this deal from the Eaton Centre or Dufferin? Thinking of switching two lines as well but I don’t want to trek to Yorkdale.

Just got the deal for 2 lines at the Virgin Plus booth in North Hill Mall, Calgary. It was explained to us exactly as outlined by @emale above.
Gegan (sales rep) was awesome, even though the system buggered up halfway through and she had to set up the 2nd line manually. Apparently the outage hit a few Calgary locations.
She also said that I can now do referrals... Huh!

Did you have to ask for the promo or was it advertised ?

Looks like they got it for 24 months because they were porting in two lines. You probably saw them, lol, they finished up around the same time you signed up, I think!milomilemila wrote: ↑ Oh no. Yes, I had to ask. They only had the $50 BYOP promo materials on display at the booth, but when I asked specifically about the cheaper plans that I'd heard were available, she switched straight to explaining it all exactly as in emale's post on page 5. She even wrote it all out on a postit to illustrate it for us, 'cos I said we were looking for 2 lines.northernale1 wrote: ↑ Im going to try 2 lines here in Ontario tomorrow....

She also said that about a half hour before we got there the place was super-busy (RFD effect?), so we were lucky to catch them at a quiet time!
Good luck tomorrow!

Ah then it makes sense. Btw I dont see the extra $5 off for a year in the Virgin online account under the “add-ons” but it shows in the agreement pdf. Do your parents see the extra $5 off on theirs?maria636534537351313526 wrote: ↑ Looks like they got it for 24 months because they were porting in two lines. so if we port in two lines is it $35 per line for 24 months or is it $35 and $30 per line for the 24 months?
As I believe the other plans are $35 for the first line for 1 year and then $30 for the other line for 1 year also.

How is Virgin with phones+tabs?
Im seriously considering just going BYOP this BF because the phones I want dont carry any decent bonuses with either points or GCs.
Thinking I just get the plan now and decide on the phone later once they appear on tabs at a cheaper price. My only caveat is if my plan ends early and my tab is still on, I kinda want those 2 together to end at the same time in case I need to jump ship with another carrier.

I'm really thinking of switching to Virgin now after 3 attempts on Fido chat to get them lower monthly fees on 2 mobile lines and Internet to match currents BF promos on the market. They just wouldn't budge whatsoever.... Ppl are saying Virgin Internet 100 is comparable to Fido 150 so I think it's worth it to give Virgin a try.

I just checked now, and it wasn't on their Virgin online account either. It is on the agreement, though, so it's probably okay! Didn't realize it came with a $50 accessory credit each line, lol, so I guess they'll need to decide if they're upgrading before Feb and buy whatever case or charger they want.milomilemila wrote: ↑ Ah then it makes sense. I see. So I’m good then I guess. About the $50 accessory credit, I’m not sure if we can just go to the store to use it as the Rep just gave a a random Popsocket and a headphone (regular to lightning) adapter without asking me which one I want. I think my accessory credit were already used without my consentmaria636534537351313526 wrote: ↑ I just checked now, and it wasn't on their Virgin online account either.
