Sound like a good deal, the employee was able to reduce the price at 15$ a month with the 300$ gift card? If my calculations are correct the 300$ credit brings the phone to 17.5$ a month. Might have to go tomorrow, I've been looking for an S20 for a long time to replace my s9+.

That's not the same deal as the OP. And I've never heard of monthly plan fee without taxes.fredmotokx wrote: ↑ Thank you for posting this deal.
Went to the store today and got an S20 too.
No upfront money and 60$ gift card to spend in-store, the monthly cost for 4 Gig is 35$ and 20.60$ for the phone (240$ credit) plus around 0.50 of emergency fee.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the sales man told me there no sale tax on the monthly plan fees. He told me this would bring me to around 59$ including 15% QC sale tax.

Did you cancel any of the 4 new contacts?misaki27 wrote: ↑ Technically, if you go to Best Buy and get the $300 GC, you can use it to buy a $250 + $50 prepaid Visa (you pay $5-8 in activation each), and use that VISA to pay directly your bill, which will end up being about the same.
I was able to purchase a prepaid VISA and pay off my existing tab balance from Fido. I got 4 phones, $1200 in GC. Used $450 to pay for breaking the existing contract and kept the other GC for air fryers, Dyson vacuum and so on.

Is the $35+$15/mth separate of the $300 gift card or it's because the $300 was applied to the price?

My mistake, the sale tax was already added on the cell phone loan, but not on the plan itself. The total including tax should be around 61$. I got 60$ in-store credit too, which brings me to around the same number as op.

Not only there's taxes on your plan fee, it's also tied to your area code. So, for example, right now I pay AB tax on devices (I got device on contract), because my address is from AB, but my plan tax is from QC, as my number is from there.
