I use 2 factor authentication on anything important.
Sends a text code to your phone to enter to confirm any purchases.

I have this too. Do you think it's worth changing the password anyway or is 2 factor good enough security?

Does this mean it is more of the older accounts?
Passwords are now being reset for affected accounts, and Nintendo is disabling the ability to log into a main Nintendo Account through a NNID. These older NNIDs were used for 3DS and Wii U devices. Nintendo’s latest Switch console uses a newer Nintendo Account system, which until today could be linked to these older accounts.
I only created a nintendo account when I got the switch...

This only affected accounts that were tied to an NNID. If you created your account with your Switch then you don't have an NNID and don't need to worry about it.
