We're looking to create a focal point in our small living room. I don't want the bump out to be anymore than a 1'-6" projecting into the room. It will be installed along an exterior side wall.

any gas models available in this size?

thanks

You mean a gas fireplace with a total depth of 1-2" that exhausts through the exterior wall?

No. Nothing like this exists. You won't likely find an electric model like this either.

Now, if you mean can you open up the exterior wall, restructure the framing and install a gas fireplace that only protrudes a further 1-2 inches into the interior space... then that all depends on how thick that outside wall is and if you can restructure the framing. You'd likely have to bump out on the exterior.

We have a Napoleon Plasmafire 31. It also comes in a 48" model. It comes out from the external wall about 8 inches

Go have a look at the Napoleon factory/showroom . It is on highway 400, just North of Barrie

30" traditional units are 14-16" depth. I thought it would be more.
