Disagree... this is standard Rogers and Bell operating procedure. I've been with multiple providers I've never seen Koodo increase rates on existing subs while my grandfathered accounts at the other two were increased.

My experience exactly.

When there would be promotions that are very similar across all carriers, you'd be wise to always go with Koodo. Only them, along with Freedom, have always respected grandfathered plans. Not to mention, Koodo always has amazing hardware deals.

The S8 is still easily worth $400-500 if you don't want the phone. Assuming you sell it for $408, that works out to be $17 a month over 24 months, bringing the cost of the plan down to $43/mo for 8GB. That's pretty good.

This is exactly why I stuck with Koodo rather than go back to Rogers/Fido - I think many saw that they were simply temporarily “competing” and that they’d start cranking up prices again at a point when the other offers were no longer available...

Yep, can confirm that my Fido bill has one of those lame "Hey, your bill is going up by $5!" notices. It's so sneaky how they insert that onto your bill, instead of sending out an email notice.
I wonder if they'll continue bumping up the prices every two or three years... that would really suck.

Plan won’t change with a Tab

Fair enough...terms are a different beast.

With Bell/Virgin just announcing all their BYOB plans going up by $5,there's currently a lot of fear Koodo and Telus customers will be hit with the increase too.

We saw this with the $40 4GB plan

Fido and Virgin jacked it up to $45
Koodo is still at $40

I was one of those on the 4GB/$40 Fido month-to-month BYOD plans that got the 30day notice it's going up to $45... While in pure dollar terms $5/month is only $60/year and isn't too huge of a dent, in % term that's a 12% increase... for exact same level of service I'm getting... which is what I had politely told them after I ported out to Rogers and they called to offer not increase it: why must I leave before you take action? Why aren't you fighting to keep your existing customers and instead focus on new customers?

Thanked them for the gesture (because the person on the phone is just doing their job) and karma ensues that my Rogers month-to-month BYOD got the $5 increase notification less than 2 years after LOL
