Thoughts on the Desktop - Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop PC (Intel Core i7-8700/1TB HDD/12GB RAM/GeForce GT 1030)

Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop PC (Intel Core i7-8700/1TB HDD/12GB RAM/GeForce GT 1030) - https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/de ... 65&irgwc=1

I know there is no SSD, but I going by reviews on bestbuy.com it sounds like one can be added..........disclaimer, I have no clue what makes a computer a good deal and if it's worth it ;-)

Thanks

Big fat pass. The GT 1030 is just about the farthest thing possible from a gaming GPU, and you'd need to spend some extra money to get an SSD.

You could do much better building your own.

Probably the worst thing I have ever seen. I want to know who it was that put that together and what they were smoking ... Someone seriously paired an i7-8700 CPU with a 1030 2GB GPU? That to me is freaking insane. That's not even a gaming grade GPU by any means whatsoever. I mean unless you plan on playing games at 1024x768 resolution like its 1999. Even at that price the bare minimum GPU I would see paired with that computer would either be an AMD RX 570 4GB card, or nVidia 1050Ti 4GB GPU. The graphics card negates that. Misleading headline. Maybe a great all around business machine with that processor, but that graphics card is a joke dude. It's bottom of the barrel.

It blows my mind still that its paired with an i7-8700 6C/12T processor. I would expect something like an i3-8100 or i5-8400 CPU in that machine with that GPU. What a messed up combo ... smh
$700 and save $600? That is insane. It makes me laugh so hard.
Stay away from that.

You should source components for cheap on Black Friday and running up to Black Friday. I believe Canada Computers will assemble a computer for you for $50. You can get a Windows 10 key for next to nothing off Ebay.

GPU is more important than CPU for gaming. Pretty much any current 4c/8t or better CPU will be great for gaming. Get 16gb of RAM and maybe a 1tb SSD or something. Make sure you go with a gold rated power supply from a good brand such as Seasonic or EVGA.

I just bought this online and For the price to complete some league of legends gaming, watching movies, basic editing for pics and videos, is this worth it? If not whats comparable to it? I dont want to spend more as 700 is my budget. I also do t want to go through building a computer. Im looking for prebuilt. Any help is appreciated.

Browse CC website constantly they have ready-to-go machines that are pre-configured by them with decent parts, not cheap junk and nice looking systems as well. I clicked on the 'Intermediate Level Gaming' tab for you, just monitor the website and look for prices/sales coming up. RTGS from Canada Computers are better, you still get a warranty and everything ready to go, just no bloatware junk or cheap parts. They use decent brand components.

WTF? $1300 for that?
Did they spell the price wrong?

How do you go from a GT 1030 to a RTX 2070 for $90 more?

Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

It was listed at $700 when the link was originally posted. Which is still too much.
