Tire Swap Cost

Just wondering what's the cheapest place for swapping all season tires mounted on rims with winter tires mounted on rims? Costco charged me $40 + tax (i..e $10/per tire). Is this reasonable?

$40 is likely to be the market rate at lots of Indy shops. So, that is not expensive per se.

I have 3 cars and take them to 3 different places as I tend to also get oil changes when I go. $15, $30, $45 is what they charge.

You wont find cheaper than $40... Unless you are getting other services done at the same time

I've seen signs on the side of the road advertise as low as 9 bucks per tire

$40 per vehicle at the shop is probably the reasonable rate, you could find some that charges $30. I have seen many are charging a lot more with super long line up........

You can try those who do it at your home for the similar price. You save the trip and effort moving the tires, but then there is no other service can be provided other than straight tire swap. For example, one of my tires had a leak on the valve, the garage shop noticed that and fix it for me before mounting it on. This is something that at home service can't do....... So, there are pros and cons . I don't expect to save money doing at home, but save the trip and wait time at the shop, and effort of moving the tires for two cars = two trips as well.

GTEH!
Tires23 charges $35 Total for tire swap.
Yes, OP is in North York, a little far to travel to Mississauga to do this. Just suggesting another place if interested.

Is that first come first served or appointments available?
Thanks

Normally we do it ourselves but last year we used someone from Facebook marketplace who came over and did two cars for 100$. Super convenient and had a good experience.

What size tires was it? Last I recall, there is a different price depending on the rim diameter.

I was charged $100 at Tires23 last year for swapping 15" tires between two steel wheels and installing it on the car.

You balance your wheels everytime you do a seasonal swap?

True enough. Not all shops do, although they probably should.

Costco FTW.
