Have you written an Exam at york? A "friend of mine" wrote an exam for someone else @ york and they had papers in their pockets. Easy as HELL to cheat in york.

All the exams I've written there required a TA to escort you. They even follow you INSIDE the washroom. Yes, it's mighty awkward.

The more people who share this mentality, the less your degrees will be worth... keep thinking this way. One day people will realize, they spent 20k to go to highschool twice... and got nothing... both times!

One instance at York made my head shake. There were at least fifty people writing a particular exam, we only had one person invigilating, and they were reading with their head down the entire time.

People were freely walking out to the bathroom without asking permission, people were gone for over 15 mins., and the same people left multiple times. I honestly don't know why all that was allowed.

I hear about wealthy kids paying people to write exams for them quite often from almost every university in Ontario. There are just so many students every year. You can't track everyone down. It makes you wonder what your bachelor degree really says about your accomplishments. Even high school had stricter rules. We weren't allowed bathroom breaks and if we were allowed, we had to have a hall monitor escort us.

Couldn't they just check student ID cards during the exam?

yep +1. Seen so many times myself. There's too many students to get their id checked.

@ York university 2 associates of mine wrote the exact same exam. Same Exact multiple choice, sat beside each other. 1 other person (not even a university student) came and wrote the exam for the Hell of it made his name some jersey shore name and submitted that as his exam.

Best part of it was they took the people's IDs whos exam it REALLY way.

I.E. (example) I am brown, I take my brown friends ID Card. Person comes to check, sees brown = brown OK!

For people in the know (i.e. university cheaters) York is a piece of cake. 1 of my boys who graduated with some BA from York didn't attend a single exam. He got some other white dude to write it for him.

Don't make me start with the Online Courses. TBH dont know many people in Ryerson, but the few I do know have told me it is just as bad.

I personally invigilate and I ALWAYS check the student card and see how the person looks like and how their signature looks like as well.

I also escort people to the washroom and sometimes I follow them into the washroom if they look suspicious. I always check to see if there is anyone else in the washroom as well.

I'm surprised that you had such a lax experience. Usually UofT is really strict when it comes to exam invigilation.

This is pretty much true anywhere, do a makeup exam in a large class and normall there is only one person, no one will watch you go to the bathroom, you can pull out you cheat notes, and even if the ta stands outside, that can't stop you from cheating just turn the opposite side of where your cheat notes are to the door and pull em out study them and go back. In an exam rooom of 300 people, do you think a ta will recognize a little paper on in your notebook exam?

The easiest places to cheat are in those disabled rooms. Just get a doctors note saying your handicap and go to the access centre and you can do an open book exam, and even if your exam is closed book, the invigilator won't care because they'll feel bad for you because they think your ******** anyways.

How do they know if you are the real person anyways, I mean like if I send a black guy to write my exam, how do they know I'm not black if he has a fake id with my name? Or what if he uses his real ID and just puts no name on his exam and then I later claim it to be mine?

So in an exam off 300 you check all 300 faces to match to the id on the computer, and match the 300 signatures as well? Where do you check it, must take awfully long. Like even if it just takes 30 seconds, that like 150 minutes just checking ids, thats like more time than people would write the exam in, wouldn't another class come in?

What constitutes looking suspicious, I'd love to hear that, you sound racist. what if you see them acting suspicious in the washroom, do you go in their and touch them to make sure they are not hiding anything down their briefs, bras or panties? What do you do if someone else is in the washroom or comes in afterwards, do you tsa them down and put your hand down their pants.

York isn't that bad...my experiences at York were similar in strictness to being at UTSG, except for one NATS course, which was a joke...the invigilators saw people cheating blatantly and did nothing about it, but that was only 1 course out of the 3 years I spent full time at York.

OP, is the risk worth the reward?

You risk:
-suspension from all OUAC universities and possibly all Canadian universities for 3 years
-an F on your transcript
-blacklisting from many post-grad programs

And let's say you do this, and someone goes to the washroom before you and does something stupid with what you did in the washroom stall. Then you are screwed.

Just study.

Yes but if you don't cheat you can fail and still get an F on your transcript. Multiple Ds are worse than a single F on your transcript because you can always make an excuse for it.
Who cares if you get suspended from all ouac universities, if you fail and don't cheat you will still not be able to get into anotherontario school. there are schools outside Ontario.

The number of invigilators are proportionate to the number of students. I usually have to check around 40 to 50 students. Easy to check everything in a hour. No?

I actually caught a person cheating in the washroom. I pretended to leave the washroom after checking the washrooms and caught the person with a cheat sheet in their hands.
