Topic/Deal Alerts cannot be set to "Everything" anymore

Hi,
I noticed this year that when I want to set new Topic/Deal Alerts (https://www.redflagdeals.com/alerts/) or to renew them, the dropdown menu to select which forums to search for doesn't have "Everything" anymore but only 3 mutually exclusive options (see screenshot attached. Below "Search content" column).
Also, when I try to get around this by adding another alert with the same keywords, but for a different forum category in the dropdown menu (e.g. "Deals/Freebies Forums" and "Discussions Forum"), it doesn't allow me because error message says "There were problems with the form submission: You are already tracking this keyword.". So using the same keywords are considered as duplicate, despite it's for a different forum category.

I wonder why this has changed. Thanks to enlight me.

This was a recent change we made as we're currently working on upgrades to the Deal Alerts system. We're currently gathering data on how many people are using it in the 3 different sections, and the "Everything" category was thought to be skewing our results. We can easily bring it back if we get enough feedback from people, or we may come up with another solution such as allowing users to check all 3 sections when they create their alerts.

It would be great to be able to select more than one section.

Then consider this feedback that I'd like to see more options.
I have many alerts for keywords that are applicable to multiple categories.

An example I've used before is "raspberry", as in matching raspberry pi (and being frustrated by grocery sales on raspberries)
There may be discussions come up under electronics, or even other sub forums.
I'd also want matches under deals, in case there is one.

Similar might occur with something simple like "steak", where a person may want to watch both deals and food forums.

You may be lacking feedback, as many users are currently unaware of the changes.
Most of my alerts have a long expiry date, and I would only become aware when it is time to renew.
I only became aware because of the the OP's post.

I have current alerts that were set up for "everything".
Do they still work?

Yes. I have old alerts for "everything" and they seem to work fine so far.

Your feedback has been noted. I'm not sure how long the current test will be going on for but I could see the original "everything" option or the option to select multiple choices back before too long.

Thanks for your feedback. As mentioned in my reply to thunit above, we will hopefully be bringing this option back (or the option to select multiple sections) soon.

While the updates we're currently working on don't improving matches for your raspberry/raspberry pi example, this is something I'll bring up in case there is a way for us to improve that as well.

Your current alerts that were setup for "everything" will still work until they expire. If they do expire and you want them added again, you (or anyone else reading this thread) can PM me and I can manually re-add them for you.

Thanks.
Could you also discuss why an alert for "laminator" also matches laminated flooring.
