This book is great. Must read if you're into fantasy
I'd be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic

Better get used to this writing style. He will end up finishing ASOIAF.

Last I heard GRRM has said nobody will be given his blessing to finish ASOIAF, should he not finish it himself. However, if Brandon Sanderson does end up completing it, I would be perfectly fine with that. He did a great job wrapping up The Wheel of Time.

Got to add to the me too's. Way of Kings is one of my favorite fantasy series. Between Sanderson and Rothfuss there are current authors pumping out quality content to top the "best" of the genre.

I would say he's the best living fantasy author at this point cause he's constantly produces content and it's only improved with each and every release. I've read all his works and you can see his progression and I'm glad he's only in his 40s as he has a lot of years ahead of him.

Weird that this offer was not sent to the regular Tor.com mailing list, where a free e-book is offered every month, and in fact you have to sign up for it separately.

+1 on the Brandon Sanderson fan club. If you have even the slight inclination to fantasy definitely give this book a try.

The Way of Kings is quite possibly my favorite book of all time (and I read a lot of different genres). Sanderson is quite frankly a writing machine and consistently pushes out books in a timely manner unlike so many of today's writers who seem to do everything but write once they get famous.

Not going to lie that the rest of the series goes downhill though. Not so much in the quality of the writing, more so that nobility of character gets dragged through the dirt. Really looking forward to book 4 though.

It would make no sense for BS to finish the work of GRRM anyways. ASOIAF's claim to fame is brutal but historically-inspired plot with sex, heroes dying and everyone is morally grey.

BS generally stays away from sex, and while each character goes thru their ups and downs... His stories are more optimistic / heroic journeys. Totally different style.

I find GRRM's work initially refreshing, but over time draining. Brandon's work I'd re-read 10x and still find them enjoyable.

I didn't. Maybe there's a separate signup for the free e-books mailing list?
