I appreciate that glove Espinal gives us at SS. It Immediately gives a massive upgrade to the defense and for that reason this team feels like a TB team. Pitching, Defense and Sabermetics. No wonder Montoya loves Espinal. If we play TB first round, It'll be a interesting series!

Travis Shaw strikeout with bases loaded. Why is he even in the lineup when Biggio is playin 3rd base? Ffs

Meh he's on a 1 year (pro rated salary) deal plus arb. I hope the Jays go and trade for a stud 3B by next year's trade deadline.

The Jays are expecting Shaw to revert to his prior form. He does have a track record bouncing between a 240 to 270's batting average, and has put up decent OBP and Slugging numbers in the past. He is theoretically a good temporary piece while you wait for internal options to develop, with solid potential upside (a .275, 345, 480 line is nothing to scoff at... and he has shown that potential before). It sucks that he really doesn't seem to have it this year though... but the Jays keeping giving their guys chances and we have seen it pay off with some of the players who started slowly (ie. many in the bullpen)

Having said that... any player with a sub 200 average this late in the season (or such 240 for that matter) makes me cringe when they are at the plate...

Lol. I recall Tanner Roark recently commenting that his keys to success will be limiting walks and HRs. Weellllll..He better not complain once he gets yanked by the 5th inning. And why is Shaw batting 3rd again.... Man!

LeMahieu goes deep again, 4th HR given up by Roark during this game already. Mighty good Roark, /golfclap.
