I like Harrah's. It's cheap, middle of the strip and all rooms have been recently renovated

Bally's/Harrah's would likely be the cheapest. Park MGM and MGM Grand are a bit of a step up but still fairly cheap depending on the days you go. MGM Grand also has a better pool complex than the former mentioned hotels.

As far as going packages or points, that'll depend on the dates you select and a bunch of other factors so it's hard to say what's the better value.

Go to caesars.com, click "book a room", select las vegas as destination, and flexible dates with the month you want, and then you will get a calendar of all the daily rates for the Caesars entertainment hotels.

This includes Bally's, Flamingo, Linq and Harrahs which are usually among the cheapest strip hotels, particularly on weeknights. But bear in mind that you will be paying 40/50 USD a night more in resort fee at any of them.

The week before christmas will be cheap everywhere on the strip. But the weather will also be only midly warm during the day and cool to cold at night (and night will start around 5pm), the pools will be closed, many shows will be dark

Play Wynn Slots or MyVegas for free hotel stays and other goodies :)

Haven't paid a single hotel nights for my last 2 vegas trips. Only the stupid resort fees. You can however refuse the resort fee at Wynn.

First off. The prices you see are a little misleading. Each hotel has an added fee. It’s called a resort fee. There is only one way around the fee…..gamble. Then the casino host might take away some of the charges. Other wise be prepared for an extra $40 US (per night) charged to your CC. That 50 dollar a night hotel is $100.

Next. You get what you pay for in Vegas. Most of the strip hotels are more than acceptable. The hotels mentioned are a bit older. If I was looking for something…it would be ParkMGM. Prices are reasonable. Centrally located. Yes. They have resort fees. All strip hotels have them.

Good luck!!!

Another plus for Park MGM is that it's the only resort on the strip with a no smoking policy

1) I don't know what APs are so can't answer that
2) I've gone to Las Vegas yearly for the last 10+ years or so and stayed in hotels on the Strip (Monte Carlo which is now called Park MGM, MGM, Hooters, Tropicana, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM, MGM Signature, LINQ, and Stratosphere (now called the Strat)... I've also stayed off the Strip on South Point, Las Vegas Hilton (now called Westgate), Tahiti Village Resort, and Golden Nugget. I would pick LINQ in terms of what you're looking for since it is central Strip, low cost, and rooms contain an empty mini fridge that you can use. Negative thing about LINQ in my opinion is similar to most Caesars properties in that they limit internet connections to 2 devices but if you have a Windows 10 computer, there is a way around this restriction
3) Don't forget the resort fees since this isn't shown on travel websites like Expedia/Travelocity/Priceline/etc. and going to the hotel's own website, depending on the website, you'll need to hunt/search for the resort fee which you pay after you check out of your hotel. The majority of hotels in Las Vegas will charge a resort fee and you pay this regardless of whether you use the items included in the resort fee (free local calls from hotel phone, fitness center, WiFi, etc.). The only hotel that I know which allows patrons not to pay the resort fee if they opt out of the services is TI (Treasure Island).
4) Can't comment on this since I don't deal with HSBC.

A lot of times it is a better deal to book directly through the hotel in Vegas. Check out all sites and see what the deals are. We went before the pandemic began and I got a room at Paris for $50/ night (plus resort fee which has been mentioned). You can find deals usually at Aria, Park MGM, NYNY, planet hollywood and MGM grand. I'm not a big fan of Ballys and Linq as they seem to be more party hotels but I'm getting old and think everyone should stay off my lawn.

Neither of those is really free anymore. It takes a significant spend on the Wynn app to be able to book rooms. Not necessarily as much as the room rate, but it also takes a long run up time of spinning to earn enough gems, and there is a constant risk that they will change the rules from under you while you earn.

MyVegas is now more stable because they give away very little. Without any spend at all, you will often only be able to book 1 night "free" (and still have to pay the resort fee). You might see 2 nights at excal or luxor, or other "deals" during very off season periods, but it is tough to get that for a whole stay.

Either app is fine if you don't mind playing them but they are not a true free rooms promotion and people should know that upfront when you are telling them to play.
