LOL - when a bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment is sublet for $1000 a month, I don't expect neighborhoods to suddenly transform because houses with up to 6 rooms that share common areas like kitchens and bathrooms are suddenly 'legal'.
These have existed forever - formally and informally. Nothing will change except some people will be able to find somewhat more affordable housing - maybe.
OP - why not cite your source for this as well? What decisions have been made / bylaws passed in the last week since it was reported that the city was thinking about proposing changes?

Anything to avoid building actual midrise buildings. Instead lets just turn all our houses into shitty duplexes/triplexes.
