Parking Enforcement
416-808-6600

The Toronto Police Service has been working closely with our City of Toronto Emergency Management partners in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have been taking advice from public health officials and making decisions that balance our need to provide community safety with maintaining the health and safety of our members.

Starting July 2, 2020, the Parking Enforcement Unit will be returning to regular enforcement of on-street parking regulations with a phased-in approach over the next several weeks.

On Thursday, the following parking violations will be enforced in a regular and routine manner:

- enforcement of change-over parking in areas where parking regulations require a change from one side of the street to the other

- enforcement of paid on-street parking regulations

Members of the public will be required to move their vehicles to the permitted side of the street and pay for on-street parking, where required.

Parking Enforcement will continue to exercise discretion in other on-street areas and enforcement will only take place when necessary to ensure the safe flow of traffic.

Further updates will be provided with news releases and will be made available at www.torontopolice.on.ca/parking.

May be like New York now was over there a few years ago and when they go to do garbage pick up on the street people that park there were in their car ready to move to other side of street or the bylaw guy would give you a ticket it was weird seeing all the people already in their car and move to the side of the road when garbage day was and as soon as it was gone they would park back to the original spot lol this was in grenich village can’t remember the spelling.

They should have never stopped. You should see how some of the idiots are parked around here. Need to be towed blocking stuff etc. Not like they can't social distance doing that job.

Not happy to find out they were not enforcing during the pandemic. I went out a few time over the last couple of weeks and paid for on street parking using the GreenP app. The app used to only allow you to pay for the times which were applicable to charges.
Social Distancing means staying apart 2 meters or 6 feet, the depth of a grave.
Get closer and you might have one foot in the grave. (Pass it on)

Should have enforced it more to alleviate the revenue shortfall.
