So I registered with my university email address, how do I know I have an active / valid subscription? It doesn’t say anything under subscription.

Thanks OP. Despite the obvious bias in their journalism, it's good to read across several new sources. Plus, can't beat not paying for it!

After I signed up and got the verification email, I had to go back to the sign up page and click "Subscribe for free", which took me to a page where I confirmed whether I was a student, faculty, or staff. Only then did it activate the subscription.

By downvoting, you are hindering others' ability to see this offer. It's one thing to have a negative opinion of the Star… but where do you get off preventing other RFD users, who would like to read it for free, to see the deal?
