[Toys R Us] [HOT] National Geographic Quadcopter Drone $39.98 (50% OFF)

CLEARANCE ITEM
Fun, fast and easy to use, the Quadcopter Drone from National Geographic is great for kids and for kids at heart! Featuring 1-button controls, our innovative remote allows you to take-off, land, and perform 360-degree flips with one simple push.

For beginners, the automatic orientation makes a much easier learning experience: The drone simply responds to controls as though its facing the same way as the pilot. (Turn left always means turn to the pilots left). The automatic stabilizers keep wobbly flight to a minimum and one-button landings and take-offs mean fewer crashes. Plus, with one button flips your child will be performing tricks instantly. With this drone, youll fly like a pro in a matter of minutes!

Powered by a rechargeable LiPo battery, the Quadcopter flies for up to 10 minutes 30% longer than most other drones! With an altitude hold function and a 6-axis stabilization system, you can safely fly, race, and perform stunts to amaze your friends and family.

Easy to operate with auto-orientation
Up to 10 minutes of flight time
Built-in speed control and altitude holding function
One-button action for 3D flips and tricks

Nah man, it pretty much illegal if you live downtown

-No flying 9km near any airport
-No flying around residential houses/apartments
-Name /address printed clearly on drone
-Applies to like all drones over 350g if i remember

Yes it is.

Per the rules for recreational drones anything that weighs over 250 g follows drone regulations.
The National Geographic drone has a take of weight off 680 grams. Therefore, it must follow drone regulations.

Drone regulation states the following:
-below 90 m above the ground
-at least 30 m away from vehicles, vessels and the public (if your drone weighs over 250 g and up to 1 kg)
-at least 75 m away from vehicles, vessels and the public (if your drone weighs over 1 kg and up to 35 kg)
-at least 5.5 km away from aerodromes (any airport, seaplane base or area where aircraft take off and land)
-at least 1.8 km away from heliports or aerodromes used by helicopters only
-outside of controlled or restricted airspace
-at least 9 km away from a natural hazard or disaster area
-away from areas where its use could interfere with police or first responders
-during the day and not in clouds
-within your sight at all times
-within 500 m of yourself
-only if clearly marked with your name, address and telephone number

Pretty hard to find a place to meet all of these requirements.

Pretty hard rules. They should have simply banned drones instead.

Just get something slim and extremely sporty like the Nihui U807 and it doesn't fall under the drone regulations because it weighs under 110 grams. It cuts through wind easy.

Has anyone actually faced any penalties for flying a drone? I think the worst that would actually happen would be someone telling you to fly it somewhere else.

Unless you don't fly it near airports like some bone heads, you should be fine. Like many rules, its not always enforced. Just don't do anything dumb and you'll be fine.
