Travel insurance for short trips to states

I discovered cheap travel insurance for multi trip annual: manulife cover me. I got a quote of $50.00 for annual. My one caveat is it refers to local ambulance only and doesn't include air ambulance (except home) so I was thinking it couldn't be used for cruises. If you know of something half decent cheaper please post . (Don't ask me why I started to look at travel i esurance now. I'm not sure.) Oops that's for 4 days so really only good for short trips to states.

Too many variables here to provide info on Travel Insurance Rates for comparison

First off ...
Coverage can vary greatly
Just by the fact of ones age, health condition, where they live, how often they travel, for how long each trip is, where they travel to, and what they do while they are away

Lol, $ 50 sounds awesome at first glance
But ... maybe it isn’t
(Even if one is say 20 and in good health )

Anymore than $ 500 sounds like an awesome price for a car too
But maybe it isn’t
Once you see the car / look under the hood

Big difference between buying a Lada and a Mercedes
As an informed consumer ya gotta know and understand the differences of what you are buying
Not just go by the price on the ticket

Cuz otherwise, what looks like a bargain could end up costing you a whole lot more ... when the rubber hits the road

I've been comparing a lot of travel insurance policies lately and consider myself an informed consumer. As i said the main problem is the lack of air transportation.

In my 20s I used to take day and weekend trips to the US. Maybe 5-10x/year. Every time I would go to my local insurance broker and buy medical coverage for $1/day. Took 10 minutes of paperwork each time. The guy kept trying to sell me an annual policy for $30. I always turned it down, was cheaper to buy it a day at a time. He got used to seeing me show up on Fridays with my loonie, and would just roll his eyes.
