Travel to UK - is it ok to use cheaper and faster antigen test?

Double jabbed. Any experience going to the UK? What will happen after July 19?

Air canada' advice: Passengers 11 years of age or older (including UK citizens) must present a negative COVID-19 PCR, LAMP or antigen test before entering or transiting through the UK. The test must have been taken within 3 days of departure, and the proof must be in English, French or Spanish.

Canada, eh?
No quarantine for full 5G injected individuals in Amber list countries (e.g., Canada) starting July 19. However, they only accept vaccination proof from NHS-issued certificates. So basically restricting them to UK residents.
Unless you're a UK resident and got your shots in UK via NHS, nothing has changed.

But to answer your thread title, yes you can use antigen results to satisfy pre-departure test requirements. Then you'll have to quarantine in the place you’re staying and take 2 COVID-19 tests.

I know they are looking into the issue about UK citizens being vaccinated in other countries being forced to quarantine but no idea when it could change but it looks like they will look at the EU and USA proofs first.

If that does change, my worry is that they are predicting over 100,000 cases in August (could be sooner after what is happening in the Euros) and testing positive before returning to Canada as there will be so much virus circulating.
