Or, you can opt for the 28" at Lowe's which comes to $1050 before tax when you take advantage on 'save the tax on snowblowers' event.

2" is not worth $150 IMHO, but it depends on your needs

Also the 24" one comes to 800ish pre tax using the same offer

Those are both 2-stage...not a 3-stage Snowblower.

I assume you are referring to this: https://www.lowes.ca/snow-removal/cub-c ... 60552.html

Also...only available for in store pick up..which is sold out everywhere around me.

EDIT
The save the tax ended on Sunday

Looks like I need a big coffee (too bad McDo is over :D )

For those who want a smaller 2 stage, the TSC has it for $850, you can pm at Rona for $775 pre-tax

All Good...the smaller 2 stage for $850 is 24"....to me the extra 6" (insert joke) is quite needed.

Link to deal is here: http://www.tscstores.com/MTD-GOLD-24-TW ... t7Phn0rJhE

My whole reasoning is after this winter...i broke my back lifting snow over my 7FT high snowbanks.
I wanted to buy a snowblower that I didn't feel like replacing in X Years based on needing to upgrade.

The MTD Gold 30" fit the bill.

Last week, my electric thrower couldn't handle the extremely wet snow at the bottom of my driveway, so I had to manually remove it. I badly injured my right leg (possible fracture) dumping out the heavy sleigh scoop, since I used it to lift the scoop in the air, repeatedly... Thanks for posting such a powerful beast, although I'm still not in the market as the snow is rarely that wet...

This year...the snow bank at the end of my driveway was easily 3FT most of the time after the plow went by. Shovelling by hand killed me.
My banks were so high I was lifting snow up over my head.
My wife felt bad LOL!
