Man this thing is heavy compared to my ole 18v 250 ft lb impact. I like how it has three speeds and first is good for 100ft lbs second 300ft lbs and third 700lbs. Should take lugs off my ram in second gear! My old 18v model removed lugs off our rav4 and Santa Fe but not the ram. This is a steal at 179 bucks or cheaper at HD with free ship. Thanks OP!
Just tested it out will only remove ram lugs in 3rd speed and they are at 125lbs by my torque wrench so the sticker rating is a little high but I figure this gun should be good for 250-300 ft lbs easy. Like my old one rated at 250ft lbs only really removes around 80ft lbs.
I have 12 dewalt tools now!

Interesting
What would be the best option for someone getting into the "MAX XR" line ?
DCF899HP2 : $399.00
--- versus ----
DCF899B : $179.99 - bare tool
DCB205-2 : $169.00
Total : $348.99 - cheaper but the charger is missing.
I tried price-matching 3 times but got denied due to no stock on the tscstores site.

I mean it’s not too much saving if I want batteries. I have to go through pm.

It’s out of stock in warehouse but the odd store still has it in stock, I think st Jacobs has one. Look under individual stores for stock. Maybe if you show HD one in stock at a store they may price match.

You could peruse Kijiji and FB marketplace for battery and charger FS posts, people often part out kits and sell there for reasonable prices.Drin wrote: ↑ Interesting

So you guys figure it was a price error? Was not even listed as on sale or clearance etc. and almost 50% less then most other stores.

If you’re not in a hurry I would go for the bare tool. There are often promos where you can buy a 5AH battery with charger and get a “free tool” along with it which is probably your best bet.Drin wrote: ↑ Interesting

I’m thinking it was either a price error or unadvertised clearance. I was half expecting to see my order get cancelled but I picked it up today with no issues. I actually ordered from both TSC and HD just in case one of the orders got cancelled. Still no shipping from HD yet.

I don't believe it's a pricing error as it is still up, and it's also listed on the PeaveyMart website. Peavey is the west coast version of tsc.
I grabbed it from the Leduc store, and ordered one online as well. Hell of a deal. Even KMS Tools wouldnt price match it.

I had a chance to use this today to rotate tires on my Ram. This is with a 5AH battery and lugs on truck hand torqued to 125ft lbs
Used 3rd speed to undue lugs, works real nice as it brings the power on slowly like a soft start and increasing power as needed instead of instant hand twisting power, removed all lugs easy, upon reinstalling lugs I started by hand then put gun in 1st gear and following the star pattern I torqued them down as tight as the 1st gear would go, which is real slow and smooth, I then checked with torque wrench and they all were 100-105 ft lbs so I finished with torque wrench to 125ft lbs. all in all it’s a fantastic tool!

i do the same on my car putting lugs back on . Usually get them to around 70ft lbs about a second after impact . Finish with torque wrench . Works well !!Redfisher wrote: ↑ I had a chance to use this today to rotate tires on my Ram. This is with a 5AH battery and lugs on truck hand torqued to 125ft lbs

I don’t think that’s a fair statement. There were 7 available on the TSC website which sold out plus whatever was available for in store pickup. HD was price matching without the 10% extra when stock ran out.
Anyways, it appears that I’ve got 2 now. If anyone in the Renfrew area wants one let me know and I will sell at cost.

Good to know! So around 70ish (good for suvs) one second after impact sound, 100-105 full torque in 1st gear.(good for trucks) Maybe I’ll put a bolt in my vise and tighten a nut down full power in second gear and check with wrench to see.

You posted at 4:30PM and it was OOS by 10PM. Not to mention online support closed at 9PM. The only way to get it was by the HD rep making an error after that. One person posted they tried 3 times and failed in getting a price match.freshlycutlawn wrote: ↑ I don’t think that’s a fair statement. I'm only making a point of it because I was unable to get the price match or get it from TSC, and I saw your post the same day it went up.
