Just hopped onto the University subway line at Lawrence West station. TTC employees are handing out free boxes of masks. No idea where else this is happening.

The guy wearing a TTC jacket handed the box to me right when I entered Lawrence West station. Did not hear what he said as I was wearing headphones, lol.

The TTC is so generous. Buying in bulk should have costed them probably less than CA$5 per 50-count box [IIRC, peeps said that was its price pre-pandemic].

Please don't take the entire box. If you're riding public transit and you don't have one yourself (you should), take one.

Good deals =/= taking advantage of tax payers money.

EDIT: if you were given one, fine. Still ppl shouldn't run into stations and take advantage of this.

You can call the TTC corporate lines and complain about the waste, it only takes a few calls to get them alarmed and acting to stop this nonsense.

One mask per customer, not one box.

The TTC is multiple billion dollars in the hole for 2020 and needs a huge bailout from the federal government just to survive.

Trust me when I say that they cannot afford to be handing out 'free' boxes of masks.
