TurboTax installed on VM

Dear all,

I'm buying TurboTax Standard from Costco, this version can be used for 8 returns with ­> 25k income and 12 returns for less than 25K. And it only can be installed on 3 PCs. I'm wondering if I can install it on a VM to be used on more than 3 PCs. We fit the limit of 8 + 12 returns but we need to install on 4 PCs.

Do you know if it can work?

Pretty sure TurboTax thought and avoid this. It’s their main business. Can you buy higher version?

We only need for 7 returns. The Standard version is 35$, the Premier is for 12 returns at 75$ but it's still can be installed on 3 PCs. Which higher version that you mean?

Most likely, you have to get Premier version to file taxes. Or get 2 (Basic and Standard).

If the access is the main concern and not the number of returns, then just install it on a Virtual Machine and let everyone that needs access remote into the machine

That's what I'd do.
Rent a virtual machine by the hour and add/split the cost between everyone.

Or if they're all local, install it on a laptop and share it.

Or if it's just one other person, have 2 out of the 4 people share it.

Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.
