Turbotax Standard 2020 sharing

I was wondering if anyone knows whether the program can be shared across three friends on three different machines, as under system requirements it does say "TurboTax may be installed on three computers and must be activated via Internet."

Can anyone confirm who has actually shared the software using the same license key?

Thanks in advance.

Been doing it that way for years. Buy it at Costco or Walmart for around $30

8 returns ( 1 return per person for a max of 8 ppl) on 1 login. Doesn't matter how many computers/tablets you install it on as long as you don't exceed the 8 returns.

Shared 2019 with family members last year. It would not be different for 2020 edition.

I have been using Studiotax for more than 10 years. It is free. It is certified by CRA, has netfile. Can prepare up to 20 returns. Each individual can install it for his/her own use. Not cloud based, so secure.

StudioTax is switching to a paid model this year.

"In order to meet the ever-increasing maintenance costs and to support our employees, we are unfortunately no longer able to offer StudioTax as a free software. To keep the software around and improving for many years to come, we are asking for your help by paying $15 for a license."

Tax packages are discussed more actively in the personal finance forum: personal-finance-f41/

There you could discover important stuff like StudioTax no longer being free and what people are suggesting as alternatives.
