turning DRL's off? 03 ranger

Try applying the parking brake. The lights should turn off.

Take out the DRL module.

Only works if you don't disengage the parking break after starting the car.

Not all cars operate the same way. I have a Mazda and once the parking BRAKE is applied the DRL's go off.

What about the pollution you are generating by 2-4 hr idling? Have you never heard of an AM radio+ 2 D-cell batteries?

My drls are on when the ignition is in the on position and the truck is not started allowing power for drls and radio. I guess I have to remove the module as engaging the parking brake does not turn off drls

Have you tried turning the ignition 1 click counter-clockwise? That's how my F150s have worked. It allows accessories but not lights.

I think your turning the key too far. You should have an ACC position. Another way to check is If your dash lights are like Christmas, then your turning the key too far.

Edit**** Page 110 of the manual says to turn the counter clockwise for the radio.*******************
