You also never have to worry about getting the benefit of any breaks/loopholes/bendy rules etc. and are guaranteeing that you'll always pay maximum tax. But hey, it's kinda like paying a really, really expensive accountant to do a simple task for you so you don't have to do it yourself, and that's what servants are for, right?

Just tried that code and it gave me $6.49 off for a grand total of $21.99 for my spouse and my return, taxes in.

You probably got the $3.99 off because you are single. A single return is $16, so 25% off means $4 off.
