Un-expire a thread?

I don't think there is a way, but I was wondering if this could possibly be added?

I made a thread the other day and the stock ran out so I expired it. Then the next day there was stock again. Instead of making a new thread I just reported my own expired thread asking a mod to move it back (they did).
Just wondering if it could be an option the same way you expire a thread, to "un-expire" one?

Thanks

Oh I just meant giving the thread creator the option to un-expire a thread that's in the expired thread forum.
I did get a mod to move the thread back to hot deals. I just had to report my own thread to do it. I thought it might be way easier if we just had the option to click a button and send it back to hot deals section.

I like this idea. How about also giving thread creators total control of the ability to move their own Hot Deals threads back and forth between active and expired. I'd be happy to move my own threads to expired when I know the deal is over, and move it back if the deal is back up. Should cut down on the amount of work that moderators have to do.

I actually meant to post this earlier but better late than never.

For the past few years OP's have been able to expire their own threads from Hot Deals using the expiry button (only visible if you're the OP). What we didn't have was the ability for them to un-expire them from Expired Hot Deals back to Hot Deals. A couple weeks ago I added this ability in so now it works both ways.

That is great to hear.
I went to one of my expired hot deals threads to see if I could find out where the un-expire button is, but can't seem to find it. I figured it would be in the same spot as the expire button, but isn't.
Is there a time limit or something on how long you have to un-expire a thread? I wasn't actually planning on moving any threads back to hot deals, just wanted to see if it was now possible.

It's actually the same "Expire" button but the action in the Expire Hot Deals forum is to bring the thread back to Hot Deals. Let me know if you don't see it.

I don't see it.
I used this thread as a test amazon-ca-l-b-maple-treat-maple-syrup-c ... se-2284407
Normally where the 'expire thread' icon would be just shows the multi-quote icon.

It looks like the setting had reverted back somehow. I just updated it again so you should see the "Expire" button again in Expired Hot Deals threads which you're the OP for.

Why is it that moved threads continue to show up in the main thread with "-->[Moved]"

If it's been moved, I would prefer not to see it. Is there a setting I am missing, without having to manually click to hide each thread?

This is done on purpose and not something the user can disable. I believe "moved" expires after 30 days.

Moved/Merged shadow threads are removed after 1 day. These are left as a courtesy to those who might go looking for a particular thread and not realize that the thread had been moved or merged.

This is a great feature, I am glad you guys added it.

A mod moved one of my threads to expired the other day, despite it not actually being expired (maybe someone reported it as such and mod just moved it without checking).
Anyway, as the thread creator I was able to easily move it back to hot deals without having to ask a mod to do it. Very very handy!

We do check; however, sometimes at the time of our checking the deal may appear expired or not obvious to find. Glad the feature has come in handy for you.

Thanks Tom. But at what point do they vanish? Like right now, if I go to BST - Tickets, i see pages full of "-->Moved" threads. Even for threads that are over 30 days old. Basically page 3 onwards.

Can't members just refer to their own profile page and look at their own started threads to find what they need?

The "auto-culling" feature doesn't currently apply to the BST forums (it definitely should though). I'll see if I can get that setup sometime this week so that those forums are a little bit cleaner.
