Unknown $50 deposit in chequing account

I got a deposit in my chequing account for $50.
It is from Assure Health. I do not have any health claims open/paid or have any membership with any company of such name.

This means someone has my account info. So what should I do to protect myself?

Not necessarily. Sometimes things get put in the wrong account, call your bank and ask. Sometimes the name/description on your bank statement is misleading too - e.g., if I buy food at a nearby Subway, it shows up in my statement as some investment company (which is that Subway franchise's holding company).

Someone with fat fingers accidentally entered the account # incorrectly.
They put your account # instead of intended recipient's account #.
I once had $30,000 deposited into my account. Was so happy only to not see it the following day.
Usually it's reversed within a couple of days.

Can’t help it. RFD is the #1 source on the internet for legal advice.
Also the #1 source for life advice.
Unfortunately… only #9 for medical advice. Still needs work.
