What is usenet used for? I used to download movies and shit from it back in the day but I dont see the point anymore. I'm just ignorant to the purpose. Seriously inquiring

The first rule says it is useless. Don’t waste time on its discussion also.

You can still download movies, tv shows, programs, apps, and other stuff. It generally can max out your download speeds, and doesn't require you to "seed" like on private torrent trackers.

You can also usually find movies and tv shows up much faster than on torrent sites.

... I've actually seen it cheaper than this ($1.66USD/month) with far less commitment time. There are no time machines however.

I'm really skeptical with this monthly to 6 month to yearly, then there were 18 month terms, then two years, now we are at 4 year? I trust very few virtual companies for that long these days. Especially those in this service space.

Interesting that in 4 years, on this day, one would assume there should be another 4 year offer...

UsenetExpress is owned by the same guy who owns NewsDemon and NewsgroupDirect. Also UsenetExpress is a Tier 1 provider and not a reseller. It's worth mentioning.

I'm paying NewsDemon $22 for 18 months XD

This deal is good, just not hot. But if you need it now then get it but do the yearly? BF usually has good deals and NewsDemon has good deals during Game of Thrones airings.

I'm currently subbing to ND unlimited and am looking for a backup.

Since ND is highwinds reseller based in the US and subject to DMCA takedowns, would it be wise to use UExpress as a backup even though UExpress is also based in the states and subject to the same DMCA takedowns.

Or should backups generally be from a different country in general?

Though I understand UE is a Tier 1 provider with their own Backbone and should technically compliment ND anyways. I'm just worried about incompletions due to DMCA from both providers.
